In theory the engine always thinks it is subzero. I have never seen a pulling tractor that didn’t start on some kind of ether be it 1 can or 4 or even 5. I’ve seen them die and stall after having 2 cans already. And most of these tractor are over 200# sometimes 300 lbs of boost. 100# won’t hardly get them off the line.
that tractor wouldnt run if they wasnt spraying it, its decompressed so they can run a bunch of timing, timing is also why he has to ether it so much, plus they run 17mm ppumps. NOT a stock diesel

Worst thing you can do to a diesel engine it started up and starting fluid it pounds the ring lines out and breaks the rings too! I took apart this one little diesel engine ring lens and the rings completely destroyed. It will have to be rebuilt after all that starting fluid got the cylinders washed out no lubricant he probably rides on hood spaying the entire pull like look at me 👏
Smh ether rips anything that runs off combustion apart no matter how much power it makes... should be a no brainer even for you to comprehend. Its apparent that it makes 6k hp i know multiple people that have several hundred thousand dollar pulling tractors even helped build several and they refuse to use ether due to the internal damages created by that beautiful little can, instead they use race fuel and jet fuel mixtures depending on if they happen to be alcohol engines or diesel engines

What is the compression ratio at idle ? That's a lot of ether.
Don’t know the ratio but it’s pretty low
Like -13:1
Super low with all that boost
Ratio is the same at all times!

When they are putting well over 100 psi of boost into them, they cant have high compression 👍🏻
