I’ve never quilted or used bias tape before but i actually managed to make a decent vest using your pattern and this video!! I’m going to love and cherish it forever!!
Just discovered your channel after finding my mom's old sewing machine! I took it in to be serviced and am SO excited to get started. I have been eyeing alll the quilted clothes and also loving vests. AND my name is Ruby...this is just too perfect! Love your videos especially your vlogs!! Thank you so much for sharing and bringing crafty joy :)
Gosh, I don't know how many times I've watched this video. I'm just starting my second vest, and it's so helpful to review each step ahead before I jump in. I'm so happy with vest number 1, and here's to vest number 2!
I’m dilulu because i never sew and i watched this and im convinced i could easily make this because you made this looks so simple!! Obsessed with this vest it’s ADORABLE!!!! Thanks for your video
I would love to see an extension to your pattern that allows you to add on sleeves to make this as a jacket as well as a vest, just an idea! Thanks for the great instruction video.
If my vest looks a little sloppy that's okay for the first time right? Lol anyone else relate??? So cute, will definitely try a million more times until I get it right haha
okay I've been sewing for years, but never added snaps!! Your tutorial is great (so many things I've never done!) and the snap demo at the end is amazing!! I'm going to try them!!
Are you able to explain the installation of the double sided snap process in more detail? Can you link which snaps you used? Or are they just basic brass snaps ? :)
Hi! I'm wondering if you know offhand which pages I can omit from printing with the size 8 v-neck tie front version. I opened the pattern in Adobe and used layers to turn off the other sizes - should I just skip the pages that don't have the dashed size 8 lines on them? Thanks!
I’ve never quilted before and have a possibly weird question. When I watch you sewing the lines of quilting, it appears that you carry the thread from one row of stitches to the next and do not cut or backstitch on each row? I know some machines you can cut from the machine vs scissors so I thought I would check… I hope that makes sense 🙃😆 Thanks!!
First time to print and try to piece together all the parts of this. It is 30 pages😮😮 I think this may be the hardest part. As you can tell i have never made clothes before but I am a quilter. This looks like a great project to start with if i can get the pattern put together 😢 any help with this?
I’m so confused! I bought the pattern and I’m trying to make a V-neck cropped version, but nothing is lining up. I have double and triple checked and I cut out everything properly but it’s not lining up like it is in this video am I doing anything wrong?
@@jasminehare8647I think I know what you’re referring to. If you haven’t figured it out, the shoulder seams end up sitting a little lower on your shoulder. So just follow the instructions and you’ll discover they work out very well. I wondered the same and was worried at first! But my vest turned out great!
@@CynthiaB1203 Thank you! That was what I was wondering about but I just kept going and realized that it was how it was supposed to look! Thanks for responding :)
I don't really understand where you attached the ties? It looks like they look like they are coming out of the bias binding from the outside is that right? Im kinda confused

I wear a 12 and I did not preshrink my cotton fabric and was quilting my vest. I made a 14 (long version) because I wanted it roomy and to allow for shrinkage. It’s perfect!
I'm having a similar issue! I am trying to do a size 18. The front and back pieces look SO WRONG together - the back is so much bigger. Hopefully when I start putting it together it starts making sense.

Your tutorial of making a bias tape is new to me and I will start doing it in my next project. Thank you.

Imagine cute arms that you add/remove with press studs!
i would also love that 😭
@@arlenek.9039 she released a video detailing how to add sleeves last week!
These instructions are so so clear and good!
Has anyone ever told you you look like Rosamund Pike? So so stunning! Plus great tutorial! :)
thank you so much for these vid tutorials, they're so helpful and you're really great at explaining things!! 💕
You did such a beautiful job with the top stitching - it looks so clean! I'm excited to try this pattern!

Getting better?
Yep!!! This is me.
I hear you! I'm glad I used black bias binding on my first one because it really camouflaged my double stitch lines because bias binding is hard 😂
I hope you didn't ruin an expensive fabric. Sounds like my sewing.

Thank you so much for the detailed walkthrough. I am feeling super inspired to tackle on a quilted vest 😀
Omg the tutorial is sooooo good💗 Can’t wait to see another one!
thank you for such a clear video! So excited!
this video helped me get my sewjo back phew

Wooww i love it!!!
Can you show how to add sleeves to this pattern to make a winter version? I’m in love and am excited to buy this to support you!!!!
Working on a hack tutorial to add sleeves as we speak!
The bias binding is 1.75 inches by the length requirement of your desired size chosen from the table in your instructions correctly?

i also had this question!
I think because you're adding the bias tape later it kind of eliminates the need to backstitch every row!
Making the high tied version but the shoulder pieces for front and back are different widths. Which is correct - wide or narrow?
Would it be possible to have details for sizing for kids? I want to make matching vest for my 16 month old and I.
Great tutorial. Thank you. What is the presser foot called that you used to sew on the binding?
What are the measurements of the big square for the bias binding?
Beautiful
I want to use a quilt to make a vest and bag out of it. Do you think its still possible to use this pattern??
i’ve never used a pattern before so i am trucking with putting it together

It says that tool is sold out. Is there a name of what kind of tool it is ?
@@rachelmckkn I just went on Amazon and typed in Dritz Heavy Duty Snaps ..the tool she's using is on there..and 5/8" snaps
Did you use invisible thread for the quilting?
I usually match it to one side of the vest, but you could do invisible thread!
Should I cut to the line of the pattern or 1/2 inch outside of it for seam allowance?
Basically, is seam allowance included in the pattern?
Can we add sleeves to this?

Did you knit your sweater? If so which pattern and yarn did you use?
No my sweater is from Madewell!

Where do you get that pattern??
