Amazing video of the most important aspect of the game: The highly diverese and dependent factions. Cool concept. I hope the patreons will eventually decide to let you explain the extra factions from the expansion so this game gets more attention.
And I like, that you are making seperate videos to different topics instead of making an hour long monster with timestamps which have to be skipped to. It is a well organized system of uplaoding content and it feels very clean.

Thanks! Yeah I figured it would be good to separate them since most people aren't going to need all of the info at once.

It's pretty incredible. Like I said, I'm not good at it, but if you like negotiation and trade, it's definitely worth your time.

Now that the expansion is out, do you have any plans to make a second(third?) video on the nine alternate factions and their gimmicks?

I let my Patreon backers choose what I teach. At the moment I rarely revisit games I taught in the past, but I'll be putting up a poll for them some time in the next couple months asking which expansion(s) I should cover. If it wins the poll, then I'd be happy to cover the alternate Sidereal factions.

I think an important strategy for Caylion is to trade away your unplanted seedlings at the beginning of the game by binding your trade partner into a contract to give half of the ressources earned until round 3 or 4 of the planet he got. It is somewhat of a fair trade while at the same time the total amount of ressources increases that are circulating and Caylion (as every faction) work very well with ressource inflation. Making your trading partners strong to have someone to trade with later in game is just as important as bringing your own economy ahead in Siderian Confluence. Of course you have to direct the growth of your trading partners on a submersive, soft level, but thats the point of the game.
As Caylion player I would never bid myself on colonies and rather let other players have my seedlings and use the ships for Research teams and then trading research teams for colonies or just research them myself. I also like to make contracts with *Kjasjavikalimm Directorate* so that they can buy one planet with a seedling for themselves and one for me. It's not a bad trade for the Kjasjavikalimm Directorate, however it could be a waste to use those in their social construct converters, which require planets, but until they invest those planets they bring good value.
My favorite (but also the hardest to convince) ally are the *Im'dril Nomads*. They buy you planets which they can't keep and you make a deal that you don't upgrade said planet (with a contract of shared ressources for 2 or 3 rounds) for a continous stream of low level goods which the Im'dril are dependend on.
Those are however my experinece from the last 7 rounds of Siderian Confluence.
TLDR: The earlier the seedlings are in the game and planted the more ressources they generate. So just trade them all away asap. A seedling planted in round 1 will generate 4 usable ressources over the course of the game. A seedling planted in round 5 will be a waste of potential, and in Siderian Confluence counts: The more ressources are in circulation the higer the probability you will receive some of those.

Unfortunately, the Caylion are not allowed to trade their seedlings away. Caylion tokens are only ever applied to planets that they themselves purchase from the bid track. In order to give away seeds they have to offer the planet its attached to.

Unity are mechanically weak but their strength lies on making quick deals. You have to hustle a bit to do this.
