The one thing I love about The Sims 2 is that your sim will actually pull out utensils from the kitchen drawers! They didn’t have to add that little animation detail but they did and that’s why I love The Sims 2!
I mean the sims 4 trick animations would be cool if they were random and rare but seeing a sim doing that ridiculous comic stuff every time while cooking makes me kind of angry somehow
Idk if i remember correctly but isn’t it also that Sims 2 stove wouldn’t just combust randomly at lower cooking levels? It started fire only if the sim left the food there for too long at all cooking levels. Which is way more realistic, less frustrating and 100% your fault lol
I agree with everything but the last one. I had to download a mod because my Sims had severe ADHD and couldn't stand in front of the oven for more than 1 whole second.
@@kitkatboard hahaha i feel you. I believe that you shouldn't stack interactions while your sim is cooking cause as soon as they put this thing in the oven the cooking interaction is done and the taking things out of oven doesn't automatically come up if your sim is busy or walked away from the stove. Idk how free will works in this case tho
It sure is, and the food preparation is realistic too! Let's take a moment to shower love to the details in Sims 2 and end with a chef kiss Did u check out the pizza in Sims 2? That one is also realistic as heck ^_^
Omelets in ts2 look more like a tortilla imo. But overall in ts4 i still think the only dish shown here, that looks better is the turkey, the omelets just look too flat and blurred to me :0
It's so interesting how the style changed. The Sims 2 food leans more towards naturalistic, while the Sims 4 stylized more. First of all, I will say that I think some of the textures of the Sims 4 look pretty good, like the side dish of the turkey looks more tasty, while the Sims 2 side dish looks kinda gross ngl. The grilled cheese looks less burnt, and the omeletts look stylish and very pinterest-like. But overall I think the food in the Sims 2 is the best. It stylizes little enough so that you can really get a feeling of what the food tastes like. I can almost taste the berries on top of that cheesecake (@TS4 what are you, a large coin on an elliptic platter?), and I love that I can see every sesame seed on top of these steamed hams. What I think is best though is that the TS2 food is very colorful (well that, and the fact that it has more stages how much has been eaten, I think?). If you make a few dishes, the table is a rainbow of dishes. My favorite is the pizza to order because you can take every single piece out. TS4 food looks like it's all been through an instagram filter. I swear I'm not just here to crap on TS4. They had reasons to streamline some stuff, and the style of TS4 has been more inspired by social media culture and what is modern nowadays, the eye that always looks for something beautiful to take with it through a photograph, while TS2 was inspired by the early 2000s, pop culture and shows from that era, and the cynical humor of a certified nerd. I still prefer TS2 because I'm a bit of a cynical nerd myself, and I like that they weren't scared of showing the ugly side too. The slightly burnt grilled cheese speaks to my soul.
i first played the sims 4 but then i was getting interested into the sims2 and i saw how in the sims 2 the sims actually pull the drawers inside the counter to get their utensil to cook and i know this isn’t about food but i really love that detail and sims 2 has a lot of details but sims 2 is so far my favorite game coming from a person who first played the sims 4 😅
@@malloryknox6802 Thanks Millary "Reaction" Knox, I didn't expect to learn something new today but this is really interesting. Thanks for sharing your knoxledge! At least Sims 2 food designers were aware of what the best food is gonna look like.
@@chicken7471 I think in TS4 they just went with a very doll-house, plastic style in general. Not everything looks terrible, but the food isn't that tasty looking imo.
Sims 4 team, who the fuck seasons their Turkey mid cooking like that?! Basting yea sure, but sprinkling salt and stuff every 30 secs? Not so sure. I’m now 100% convinced the entire dev team consists of aliens in disguise trying to mimic human but spectacularly fails at every attempt judging from the animations shown in this video 👽
Take a shot everytime the sims 4 sim has to do an unnecessar flashy trick while cooking
Pretty sure I would die before the end of the video
Ugh if I want them cooking it’s cause I want them to eat so I can focus on other stuff.. not watch them do tricks that take up time
i enjoy it
*dies of alcohol poisoning*
Omg I cant stand it. Wish there was a mod that made them cook like normal people lol and not hibachi chefs
I hate the dumb tricks and constant standing around and chuckling to themselves that the sims in TS4 do. Just cook the damn food like a normal person.
Rigghhttt. When I’m making grilled cheese I don’t randomly start playing with knives 😭
Cheesecake in Sims 4 just looks like they straight up forgot to texture that thing 😭
This side-by-side comparison made me realize how Sims 4 animation has only two settings: "lacking" and "unnecessarily extra."
Sims in TS4 waste so much time "preparing" food with all those stupid animations and talking to themselves.
They take a lot of time eating too.. just eat the damn thing! 😾
@@lenandersson617 **eats** **does an animation bc is happy** **eats** **does another animation bc now its uncomfortable**
Yeah the emotions sims have in sims 4 and all the reactions can be really annoying when it's just something like cooking where they should be quick
And talking to other people saying hey wanna join my cooking just do the damn cooking for fuck‘s sake
Right, just to make food that looks awful 😂
The sims 2 wins. Not only the food preparation animations are more realistic, but the food itself looks more realistic.
The food even had steam coming out of it
sims 2 - actual different, interesting and pretty prep animations
sims 4 - haha BOWL OF GOOP *juggles it*
Thumbnail be like:
Sims 4: 🟠
Sims 2: 🎂
😂😂
🤣

There are few things as frustrating as watching sims 4 overseason a turkey and not let it just cook

sims 4 animations take soooo long

@@kitkatboard lol wth, I've been playing the sims 2 for years and never had a problem like this. Are we sure we're playing the same game?
grilled cheese in sims 4 looks really weird tf was that lol

isn't it obvious?

Yes, it does.💯

that's the whole point of the video lol
More proof The Sims 2 is superior
WHY DOES SIMS 4 LACK SO MUCH TEXTURE???
Because it was originally supposed to be a freaking mobile game
Please TS4 is so extra and for what? 😭 It comes cheap as hell
I'm surprised sims 4 actually got a better looking and more realistic colored omelet
as for the rest... well...
Omelets in ts2 look more like a tortilla imo. But overall in ts4 i still think the only dish shown here, that looks better is the turkey, the omelets just look too flat and blurred to me :0
God that first sims 2 song NOSTALGIAAA BRUUUUH
The omlette is the only thing that looks better. Everything else is a LOT more realistic in SIMS 2 also the preparations make a lot more sense.
Sims 4, You call THAT cheesecake!? 💀
I love how the kitchen layout and the Sims look super similar. Cute!
Is it just me or does Sims 4 food look like plastic compared to Sims 2 food?

I guess I was spoiled by TS2 because most of the the food in TS4 looks horrible to me.
It's so sad that a almost 20 year old Game look better then the Sims 4. 🤣
Watching the sims in sims 4 is actually obnoxious. I’ve always hated how they do all those tricks while cooking 😭😭
Is it just me or does ts4 food look super low poly... 💀
Even the bowl of fruit on the kitchen counter... the one from the Sims 2 looks far better ! 0:25 vs 0:39
Omg sims 4 took forever >.< even with 2x fast forward they don’t do anything
I like that my sims butler cooks instead and saves my sim so much time lol 😂
who let people animate the cooking in Sims 4? they probably don't cook 😂

man the sims 4 cheesecake is so boring and uncreative
And you can literally see the corners of the polygon

sims 4 food looks bland :/ I'd have guessed with how much they season it, it would look better, but nah

Sims 4 animations look stupid
ok
idk why but the sims 4 clay foods looks more yummy to me
