This New AI Model Is Further Proof Gen Z Should Just Give Up

- Artificial General Intelligence or "AGI" is right on the horizon with the new o3 AI model from Open AI coming soon. This is just more proof Gen Z shouldn't bother working. On top of this joke of a labor market and dogshit wages employers are paying, AI will soon replace just about every job regardless of how hard you work anyways. This is just the cherry on top of all the other reasons we always talk about as to why Gen Z doesn't want to work and why they're absolutely right to feel this way.

OpenAI just switched from non-profit to for profit, while they have an Enterprise AI "worker" coming soon that costs just $2k/month. There's also no insurance, unions, PTO, or other costs to deal with. This is trouble.
IT COYLD REPLACE LAWYER OR OTHER USELESS PEOPLE. OYTSIDE WAREHOUSES USELESS
And humans will start a parallel market I suppose, called The Cartel. I mean you still need to make money somehow right?
This is death for those who have a job whose major output is not labor. Robots, when they get to humanoid form and ability, will kill these, too, but you still have some time to learn something that will serve you.
@@mr.mayhem1975 Yes, it's called Optimus and it's being built by Tesla. Quite a nice machine.
@@Ragnar452 There are way more impressive products in that domain but I suppose your main point still stands.
Ready to be brokies boys? Aren't you excited for $500 a month UBI payments and live with 10 random people on craigslist or with your parents all your life? The dystopia is becoming very real. Own nothing and be happy
Not really.
What makes you believe there will be any UBI? Where will it come from? The generous corporations who own all the governments and essentially write the laws that govern themselves? There will be no UBI. There will be systematic elimination of the vast majority of the population.
Own nothing and be happy? No... Why not head for the backwoods and live like a frontiersman? Its not glorious, but at least you won't die like a slave in some camp somewhere. To each their own, I guess.
500 would be great in Indonesia!
"Jokes" aside if robots will create everything, there will be hyper deflation, because they can produce with almost no cost. It will be interesting what the economy will like like in the near future.
Criminals will do what they were intended to do, using the right excuses. U think u can force companies to do what u want them to do anyways? It's also the greed of rising cost of living, rent, groceries, gas and hyperinflations, it's not just 1 group.
Even if you have a job that AI hasnt replaced (Yet) the people who have had their jobs replaced by AI are going to be competing with yours.
You think this soy boys will pick up plumbing, construction and so on? Not going to happen.
The really funny bit about college; my friends that went to art school are somehow MORE well-rounded for a life without a stable 9-5, and their parents were very cross with them for going that route. I thought it was pretty funny; you've got tons of "traditional" workers that are out of luck, and then you've got my friends in the creative careers going "ok, i'll just go make my own money if the corporation won't pay me to do it". And that's been their general sentiment in the wake of AI replacing artists...
I've reached the conclusion that these people are built different. Like they've got nothing to lose.
this wont last long, the end goal here is universal basic income and essentially a technocracy that leads to transhumanism...essentially youll make your own money if the gov says you can because itll be like china. china operates on a capitalist structure but allows gov to intervene if they see fit when it comes to business and such. issue is CBDC will replace the money we have now so it does not matter how you make money or where you spend, the gov/global shareholders/those in charge of the system will know eveyr detail on every cent you own and use. each cent will literally record what it was used for and where it was used and why and who and from there they can get creative for example maybe blocking your money from being used on specific goods because your social credit isnt high enough etc.
@@rodneyramsay5561 Where there's money, there are ways to make it "legitimately" or "illegitimately". CBDC might be issued by central banking systems, but so is our current dollar. With the rising amount of cybersecurity risk and crime, I doubt it would take long for threat actors to abuse a digital currency and its exchanges.
We also aren't longterm thinkers, hence arts.
Of course they're enjoying life. If you can afford to go to art school, chances are you have well off parents
@@buddylee5712 The guy I referenced didn't lol.
I guess this is actually pretty dark. Big corporations will replace workers with AI and the wealth generated by AI will not be shared with the population and people will break financially. For now, stay away from any debts, because things will only go downhill from here. I'm not even able to get welfare. Not sure what's left in the future for us. Perhaps just enjoy the last moments enjoying something and eventually perish in poverty.

As a millennial i've had this mindset over a decade ago, things seems to be unfolding gradually towards the point that even boomer politicians cannot stop this..
Leave people alone, give them a basic income and let them pursue their own ambitions over the old outdated one..
Lets be honest in order for this AI transition to take off, we need new policies, safety nets and new laws and regulations for this AI transition..
And younger people in politics to get rid of the boomers.

I have a relative who used to write code. He got laid off recently due to A.I. He graduated from high school with honors and from university.
It doesn't matter how smart or educated you are. Unless you're an overrated executive, A.I. is coming for your job.😮
Not so if it involves physical or technical labor, at least for a while (until robotics becomes cheap and merges with AI)...

UK here, I recently learned back when the Quakers owned Cadbury's, they eventually upgraded to machines which meant a lot of layoffs, however what happened was the savings were passed onto the customer. The chocolate became very affordable by basically anyone from that point instead of adding that extra profit their own paychecks.
Nowadays this is unheard of. We have billions invested in solar and wind farms but instead of electric being cheaper, it's increased significantly and now people are struggling like crazy.
Our gov is considering shutting down these farms just to make electric affordable again. Can you believe that?
When staff were laid off from McDonalds and replaced with self serve kiosks, the cost of the food also went up quite a lot.
When AI takes over, and saves companies millions a year, they'll just keep it all and increase the cost of their service under the guise of it being ultra high-quality now that human error is gone.
Everyone who was "playing" with any of the "free ai programs" available just helped the ai companies with years of troubleshooting: free labor. They helped what will eventually govern, dictate, restrict and punish them when implemented by these technocratic psychopaths.

In the short term the unemployed will seem happier than the employed. But years of basement dwelling will catch up to anyone.
Neither is ideal but it's better than working yourself to an early grave for a corporation that doesn't care about you imo. This is as much of a free market thing as anything. If the economy was decent and there was enough financial incentive to work people would naturally want to do it. If they see no better alternative blame the economy not them.

With the access to so many useful resources we have today it will happen a lot of boomers are skeptical and stuck in their ways of saying just get a job and work you’ll be ok! I doubt that just getting a job will be enough in the future if it is barely enough even today with such basic AI features. They literally don’t care about it either because they got theirs. They already have all the jobs and positions we want and they won’t give it up until they get put in the nursing homes. The future is thinking outside the box and going against what the boomers say to do.
I gave "AI" such as ChatGPT a chance for several months. I found it to be extremely useful in handling brain dumps and helping me piece concepts together. I daresay "AI" in their current state is a great brainstorming machine. However, the ethics and morals regarding the uses of "AI" must be clearly defined. It genuinely pains me to say it, but the state must intervene and impose regulations on "AI". "AI" has their appropriate uses and abusive uses.
Thanks for telling it how it is. Out of touch boomers really get on my nerves.
They think I can make someone hire me & all I need is a firm handshake. Or that I can start a billion dollar empire in my garage with pennies & sweat tomorrow.
If everyone gets unemployed by ai and don’t have enough money to be comfortable (live without parents) who will buy their stuff?
It’s quite possible that the owner class hasn’t thought about that, as hard as it may be to believe. We tend to think of them as very intelligent and responsible, but that’s largely because they have programmed us to think the way we do. The thing about the owner class is that they own most of the resources, and can pretty easily figure out how to take what they don’t already own, so money isn’t very important to them. Ultimately, I think they just want us gone, and when we are gone, there will be no need for money, as money has always been a weapon for them to wield against us. I’m not even saying that they, themselves, know this is their goal. They operate on complete autopilot, which means they have a whole lot of unconscious motivations for what they do. In fact, the less aware we are of our unconscious motivations, the more we are ruled by them.
Probably the same people who would attend a drake or cardi b concert.

He said work non traditional jobs or create a business did you watch the video?
@MajesticLawnGnome Those non traditional jobs are no jobs at all. I hate social media for example. So I won't be a youtuber anytime soon. I don't see 7 billion businesses on the planet either. So what remains is illegal activities. Do what as a business, sell flowers like the rest of the people living on the same street? I have no idea what to start a business even means. What should your business do, is it a random pick? AI will outperform your business anyway. And can you start a business with zero money? This start a business sounds outlandish. If all available things will be RUclipsr or a business I foresee a future full of crime.

Why would Trump and Elon want to bring in a bunch of new workers from abroad if this is true?
Because AI isn't perfected yet and there's still billions to be made stealing wages from Americans by replacing them with immigrants
To continue the inflation and their control, more inflated houses, more shortages of jobs, more replacement, etc.

I think in this instance you've bought into the AI hype too much. No matter how much they claim that LLMs will lead to AGI, every academic I have looked up says this is literally not the case.
That's not to say they won't try to use AI as a cudgel to try and force people to accept lower wages out of fear.
Note that experts do not agree on whether AGI is even attainable, let alone how far away it is. You'll read plenty out there that'll tell you how advanced AI is, whether it's already AGI or not, and how your job is over. But keep in mind that plenty do that to get clicks, while AI companies will radically overpromise to get investor money. It doesn't mean it's never going to happen, but nobody knows right now how things will develop. Whatever happens, we'll have to see and keep our nerves.
I think it will be AGI 2029 but people today already gets layout because they hire Indians or ai 🤖
o3 costs $1000 a prompt, so until the cost comes down, it will not replace jobs...yet... Chip and computing tech needs to advance enough to run it. RUclips channel: Legion of Men
Matter: One person had left 9-5 job to pursue RUclips content creation for few years & stayed at cheap house, but later reflected that it didn't give return as per expectation, so joined another 9-5 job.
Main argument is to continue 9-5 job until side-hustle picks up enough value to be sustainable. Leaving one 9-5 job and then returning to another 9-5 job may not guarantee that 2nd one would be similar or better in terms of payment or perks.

Hello Philosophical Gamer, Happy New Year 2025 💐.
People are under the illusion that if you "do work" that the person giving you money for that work is directly connected to the amount of sweat equity aka labor you "did work" with or on is worth your time for,"doing work" while they make sure the person getting the money in the first place keeps as much of the money for themselves as possible and as little as possible for all your sweat, so the word "work" is over rated and held on a pedalstool, but if you say your working for yourself, and your finding it difficult you get completely dismissed, one of those "work roles" being a "gamer, streamer, RUclipsr, content creator etc"
Good video!
The question is, is this video made with AI?
It definitely was lol
He uses ai voice but he writes the script
@@jilouk5552 what exactly do you mean?
AI can’t make good scripts like these videos
@FromTheWombTotheGrave Yes it can, only 23% of 2024/2025 videos on RUclips are man-made, all the rest is AI, I know it's hard to believe...
Didn't AI tell you there is no such word as "anyways"?
Doomed.
I wouldn't overestimate A.I. either. In the end, the ability to create those globalized "super systems" is tied to the extraction of a lot of natural ressources, ranging from rare earth materials to a steady flow of electricity, which itself relies on ressources that are increasingly rare in first world countries. AKA the ones hosting openAI and all those companies.
I'm not saying A.I. won't take many jobs and make a huge mess of the job market in the coming decade. It will. And that has already started. But believing AGI will be this fully autonomous "God" that doesn't require maintenance, is freed from the constraints of natural ressources, can replace absolutely everything, and will remain up if all the humans become dumb consumers and don't/can't work on its programming and upkeep? That's just BS.
AI is powerful and it can pretty much replace 95 percent of jobs. At first I was happy about this because that meant jobs and poverty would go distinct until I realized the elite so the people of power are not going to a lot everyone's constantly by and not work and this is poverty is going to be much worse in the future...:/
Do you know if AI will replace all compositor jobs?
Sorry, everyone, but the only jobs that will have ANY kind of future is the trades, nursing, etc... Pretty much anything that requires both technical knowledge PLUS physical labor. This will no longer be true once robotics comes to the same point as AI is about to be (probably about another 10 years or so, if we're lucky), but ANYONE who has a job that a computer CAN do, very shortly will be replaced by one. Learn a trade, folks- one that you can use yourself as well as trade for a living or you will be the future unemployed. Take care of yourselves, because nobody else is going to.
By your logic people need to be learning how to survive in the wilderness instead of learning how to do a job that you say will eventually be replaced by robotics.
@@kinglukethe7th524 You are correct. I am talking about learning self-sufficiency skills, but not necessarily only bushcraft. Know how to repair your car? Know how to wire an electrical outlet? Know how to unclog your own toilet? If not, you'll have to pay someone else to do it. If you know these, on the other hand, you don't have to pay someone else, and if anything, these can be used by YOU to help others and get paid for it at the same time. The more you know how to do, the less dependent on the system you are and the more skills you can use to make a living.
@@mr.mayhem1975 I'm saying that surviving in the wilderness will be the only valuable skill period because if AI can be swapped out with a human and just do the work no matter the job then learning skills that only benefit someone living in a pre-Sentient AI world are going to become totally useless to humans. If rich people and entities who own all the manufacturing and resources don't need us anymore then they may just not give us access to any of the fruits of their labor which leaves us on our own. No more grocery shopping and no more commerce and trade. There are only so many skills you can learn by yourself before you become quickly overwhelmed. We might be able to learn to wire an outlet up or fix an oil leak on a car but what if your air conditioner needs refrigerant and you don't have any? You're left with either stealing it or trying to make refrigerant at home and making it at home requires A TON of machines and resources and a TON of knowledge that you are not going to learn in a timely manner. What if after you rewire your outlet the power plant supplying power to your house is blown up in an accident? Guess you gotta build a new power plant. Years after AI steals all the jobs and working class people are no longer needed where are you going to get gasoline for the car you just repaired? You going to go to the ocean and try drilling for it? There's only so much you can learn because people aren't going to have enough time to learn every little thing and especially the big things. Refrigerant is just one of many things that you're likely to not be able to obtain in a realistic time frame without stealing. Surviving in the wilderness though? That's not nearly as complicated as trying to maintain your current lifestyle. There's obviously a lot to know but at the very least everything you need to simply survive is around you.
@@kinglukethe7th524 I agree with your sentiment. The concept of a true lone wolf is a romantic ideal which is pretty much unobtainable if you want a modern lifestyle. However, I don't think that you have to settle for caveman-level subsistence, either. Most survival skills are fairly simple, if labor-intensive, and the idea that you have to know EVERYthing is a misnomer in modern survivalism. If you look into the hard-core survival community, the realistic ones will admit that a survival group is the way to go. You're right in that its impossible to learn literally everything, but this is where a community works best. Everyone around you or in your group should have a specialty of some kind, which means that the number of skills you personally need goes way down. Generally, the more modern you want to live, the more specialized people you will need to have- which is why the modern lifestyle is so thirsty for super-specialized people. However, if you are a jack of all trades, you can reduce your reliance on others to some extent. Generally, if you want to really prepare for the post-AI world, you should start from the bottom of the tech skills pyramid and work your way up from there. If you know the basics of food, water, fuel and shelter, the things you add onto this are simpler to learn than going to the fullest extent in any one area. You don't have to be a nuclear physicist to create your own off-grid power, and don't have to be a literal surgeon to learn basic medicine. The higher you go up that pyramid, the more your knowledge is likely worth to the outside world, as specialties are where money and time have to be spent in masse to gain high levels of proficiency. What I argue for is that you learn the general first, then specialize in something practical that isn't as common so you can trade that skill for other things you need that you don't know as well.
gg
Not to mention your voice is AI.
this video is pure slop. AI slop.
