    You really should write to the insurance company about this situation, especially if it effects them financially. Offer up the solutions you have presented. Do the same for the government in charge of infrastructures as well as for general public. People should be more informed about what you have discovered. When the general public are more aware of this, maybe they can demand change from the government. No one likes to be ripped off.

    I love how you cared enough after a workout no less to get out of your car, travel through a mall, to walk outside and confront these people KNOWING in advance how they were most likely going to treat you. Wonder what would happen if 30 other people who live in that area got out of their cars and did what you did and then confronted the civil authorities through letters how much would get done. Got anybody in the news service who would cover this as a story? Ha ha the public DOES NOT like getting cheated by the people that are supposed to protect them. I bet they don't even know about the distance thing...and how that stretch of road is causing accidents and LITERALLY cheating them out of their 💰 money. It would be fun for you to gather all the people who have paid these unfair fines over the years and demand your money back at the same time! Lolol....You could REALLY START something with what you have! 🤔 Have fun!😊💖💖💖

    The use of traffic enforcement to accentually collect another tax is not just an RoK thing. I know in Chicago (and I imagine other big cities in the US) speed traps and poorly designed intersections are also used this way.

    We have red light cameras at busy intersections. You are allowed to turn right on red, but you must stop first. They have timed the green to yellow to red cycle so that it is less than five seconds so if for some reason you fail in exiting the intersection in that span of time you get a fifty-dollar ticket against the car no matter who's driving and a hit to your insurance for a moving violation.

    This needs to be reported to the city. You should follow up with the city. I know Koreans come together to protest. Maybe you can start a protest. This is definitely a cash cow for the city.

    I am surprised that "Apgujeong-dong" is compared to Beverly Hills. All I see there are apartment blocks (almost sovjet style). I always thought "Jeongbalsan village" in Ilsan is the Beverly Hills of Seoul, just without the shopping. It has all these Family houses that are a mix of asian and western style architecture...looking like american suburbs. I wanna send you some german engineers over, to bang out efficent roads for ya all. Upset drivers are a species you dont mess with, if you wanna have a smooth day at the traffic ministry here.

      In fact, Cheongdam-dong area around Dosandaero rather than Apgujeong-dong will exist with a similar concept. I don't know about the past, in Apgujeong-dong, housing prices are very expensive, and I think there are only luxury department stores in front of old apartment complexes that are about to be rebuilt.

    In the area where I live in America, we have the opposite problem. Okay, so most of the freeway speed limit in this area is 70mph. But there is one section going through two towns that slows down to 60mph. BUT... NO ONE follows that slower speed limit. No, if anything, they speed up to a solid 80mph. Do the police enforce it? No. Does anyone get pulled over? No. Never. So here I am, trying to be a law abiding citizen, doing 60mph in that section, while everyone behind me is road raging because they're stuck behind me and can't do 80mph.
    Police or whoever is in charge... either take down the 60mph signs OR enforce the slower speed limit. PICK ONE.

    Dallas and Seoul must have the same urban planners. What if any entrapment laws does S. Korea have?

  • @flocontour9682
    @flocontour9682 2 года назад +2

    Not in Seoul - or even Korea - but, definitely have those feelings about "Where did they find those people - the ones they hired to 'design' the road???" Small town - the state decided to redesign our road without any local input and even constructed it. THEN! - Wait! What! Now there is no room for cars to pull over for ambulance and as a 'right to farm' area, large equipment - also fire trucks - can't turn. Gosh - who would have thought that some on site would have been a good idea - not those who 'designed' the 'redo' - which they had to undo immediately $$$$ down the drain. Sometimes..... ya just have to wonder!!! Traffic problems - guess they are world wide!

    When I was in Seoul I just refused to drive lol! It was public transportation only. The road designs in several places were too confusing and I knew I would only be comfortable driving extremely early in the morning or very late at night so it was pointless. Fortunately most places were within walking distance or just a subway ride away.
    Here we have less road design problems and more issues with roads in poor conditions with potholes, faded lines, flooding of certain roads even if it hasn’t rained very long, etc. The biggest issue is racism with the state law enforcement officers. Much better with local law enforcement in being equal and fair.
