Sir,is it necessary to take latest edition of all books because I have one edition old of Robbins and kdt so is it okay to read it or should I buy new one ....please answer
If u spend 100 hours in reading a book, better read it from the latest edition. MBBS books aren’t that costly. Else, read from old edition, but do give a pdf of latest edition a look (for anything new!!! And mostly there isn’t anything new)
Harrison's is definitely not a textbook for MBBS. This 4000 page book for Internal Medicine is an all encompassing one and is only a complete resource for Internal Medicine is.
I've an issue Brother in Harrison Currently there is 21st edition, So Is it ok to go with 20th one in my 3rd and final year in 2023 and 24 ?? Please reply asap
Why do Indian read Harrison , it is a wastage of time I think ; most of Indian including AIIMS IM residents read Harrison because attending and faculty do not pay significant attention to teach residents . In America Majority of IM resident do not read Harrison because they prefers journals and articles , every programmes have standard alternative short book to grasp the basic concept and eventually increased by reading up to date materials and journals . Have u think that why American don’t read Harrison as it is an American book , Harrison or any other textbook is 3-5 years behind the recent guideline . American resident do research and publish it in journal , thus they are part of a little bit contributor not being consumer . Don’t waste ur valuable time to read Harrison cover to cover that it is just ridiculous. If u want be successful do whatever American tier 1 programmes do or to do a deed even better than that .
Damn I've followed your advice without knowing it ,for my 1st and 2nd prof I've read sketchy, kaplan and pathoma etc.. All American.. But we don't have any impressive research programs like them in india, so basically these textbooks are true saviors.
@@hoodoo457 are u USMLE aspirant , you do that kind of stuff !,,,,,,,, I said it for residents not medical schools , medical schools are more or less same

Sir, currently I am about to get started with internship. Is it advisable to read Harrison's now?
No u should have read during final MBBS. Focus on mcq books in internship.
MCQs and coaching modules I am going to do. Any specific book(s) you recommend to be read during internship? To refine theory or clinical skills?
can we read it from first year or not
Not needed
@@drmohsinraj ohk but my question was will we be able to read and uderstand or will be able to learn that topics from 2nd or 3rd year
You can start in 3rd year as you've studied pathology which is fundamental for medicine
dude HPIM is useless in front of HMOM unless u wanna go 4 research, and this edition was released 3.5 yrs back ,it seems its new 4 u
