    great series. I was alarmed, when you mentioned Seres. At first I thought, you are going to talk about Syros (where I am invested in). But I am not english native speaker so I just got it wrong. However I would appreciate your 2 cents regarding Syros Pharmaceuticals (Flagship Pioneering is Co-Founder here).

    genomic stocks are going to be some of the highest valued companies in the future. picking the best ones isn't really that hard when you start to read all the quarterly earnings and public statements. these stocks are weathered and beaten now. it's a good time to start dollar cost averaging those companies now. it's gonna take years, but it is a good long term investment in my opinion.

    So if you've done your research and you believe a biotech company has potential but they're in the beginning of clinical trials etc. Would a good strategy be to buy and hold small amounts of stock and let it ride out the volatility which is probably inevitable. As the drug looks more promising and continues to pass through phase 1-3 trials, you can start investing more and more money into the company?

    Maybe I'm crazy but I'm starting my "investment journey" with biotech, so thank you for this invaluable information! Gonna start by buying some index and mutual funds for stability, and I will be primarily buying and trading with my dividends. Betting on my scientific literacy while getting my Public Health degree to judge which companies are worth it versus the hype. Wish me luck.

    Would love to hear more about how you guys predict clinical trial results from preclinical data! In other words, is predicting clinical trial results pretty random or does the data available provide a good indicator of how well the drug candidate will do in trials?

      yes, i agree as I would also love to hear more about predicting clinical trial results as sometimes the design of clinical trials will also related to the whether the trial will successful in the future!
      By the way, this is an amazing video, especially good company does not mean good investment

    How do you investigate if there was a stock split or reverse stock split? That affects stock price without affecting company valuation.

    • @joey_bag_a_donuts
      @joey_bag_a_donuts Год назад

      google the ticker symbol and "reverse split" you'll get the dates of any splits and reverse splits that have happened. steer clear of reverse splits. trust me.

    Are there any books that you would suggest reading for an investor to learn more about bio tech investing

    • @baybridgebio2576
      @baybridgebio2576  2 года назад +1

      I like the book Genentech: the beginnings of biotech by Sally Smith Hughes. Quick read and the playbook Genentech developed is still probably the best for building lasting biotechs. Also the associated interviews w the Genentech team are great and are available online at Berkeley Bancroft library
      Frank David (of Pharmagellan) has some good books on valuation and analyzing clinical data
      Other good books as well but I think the best way is to learn by doing, invest (only what you can afford to lose) and if you can, find a mentor with some experience to discuss ideas

      @@baybridgebio2576 Thank you so much
      I recently just bought genetech, the billion dollar molecular,The Pharmagellan Guide to Analyzing Biotech Clinical Trials and The Biotech Trader Handbook (2nd Edition). I have been very involved in banking the last 2 years and I wanted to potential research and invest in biotech. Your videos open my eyes to analyzing a clinical study and then seeing if the data is cherry picked or valid.
      Just wanted to thank you again.
