Retired Conductor here. One of the first things they taught us back in the day. Was to watch for overhanging and dragging things. Specially nights in the yards.
Can we stop and give a moment of thanks to whatever sprites you believe in that we have WWoT The man stood on top of a snow pile to catch a train for us. # dedication to the fans.
You ALWAYS need to keep a lookout for loose straps like that. The ones that are dangerous are loose cables on center beam cars. If you are too close they can cut you in half!! Specially if they are booking! SO BE WHERE! Steven Sipes
In one of the railfan magazines in my collection there was a letter that Father and Son were photographing trains had a crossing and there was a loose cable off one of the cars and it wrapped itself around the utility pole and snapped it in two and drag the pole down the right away with it. Always a good idea to keep a safe distance from Train.
Great video as always wwot love the ns train by the steel plant. Was great to see Dunkirk's biggest celibertity in the last 30 years again, it always nice to see you when visiting home. It's fun to brag to my wife I saw a celebrity.
Another Awesome train meet wwot as I have said before you have the most amazing luck with train meets its incredible im.coming to Dunkirk one of these days to meet you hopefully soon Another fun and entertaining video with a bunch of awesome trains DPU Alright Roll it
Watching those tie downs shows us another reason to stay a safe distance from the passing trains, that goes for our camera also. Great job as always, what a great shot.
Agree, you wouldn't want to get slapped by one of those straps nor would you want to get clobbered by a stone or other debris kicked up by those things.
Loose Tie-downs! Another example of why us Railfans always need to be on alert standing close to the tracks. Those could catch you, and pull you under the train, if you had your back to it! Best to stand no closer than 20 feet to the nearest rail! Safety First, when filming! Joe
Looks like the apprentice got told to 'tie the train down' and took it literally instead of using the hand brakes. Besides you can't tie down a good train on CSX. THANKS WWOT 👍
I'm new to the channel and really like it. I'm in Rochester and watch the Fairport cam a lot, I like your videos though. Not sure how you memorize start and endpoint for all these trains but bravo. Keep up the great videos, Roll It!!!!
Hi, WWoT! Those loose tie-downs looked like someone had T.P.'ed the train. As always, great catches and videos. Oh, by the way, you've got a new fan - and this might be a first. I have no idea whether or not you've had any of your viewers' pets as fans before, but you've sure got one now:. My guinea pig, named "Buttercup". The minute she hears train sounds, or your voice, she wants to see your video.
Great premiere, love the scenery with all the snow too! Have a nice 1st day of December Wide World of Trains!! *P.s. I’ll be turning 17 in 4 days, on Monday is the 5th for my Bday*
They'll likely trip a dragging equipment detector if they hit the paddles on the tracks. They could tear up lineside equipment though dragging the way they are.
I mistakenly said the other day that the yard in Louisville was the Moorman Yard, it is not. The freight yard in Louisville is the Osborn Yard. The Moorman Yard is in Belleview Ohio and is NS.
The tie down straps on CSX M367 should be in pretty sad shape by the time the train gets to Selkirk. Hopefully the straps won't get caught up on something and end up yanking the cargo off the train.
ChainsawN&W1218, great video WWOT, that was crazy with the tie down straps o n that bulk head flat car, dangerous I seen one strap hanging off a center beam car awhile back in Roanoke VA on Virtual Rail Fan !👍🛤🚂
Off topic. Couple of times during the video I thought my screen was cracked. Just twigs from a tree. Early in video and @10:35 eleven o'clock position on screen.
@CNGuy1987 all those straps were not just there for decoration. They were there to secure a load. With that many straps, it had to be an extremely heavy load. And with all of them broken straps that load is no longer secured to that car. I could have missed it, but I don't recall seeing a load on that car. With all the broken straps that load could have fallen off and hit some one or something in which case the railroad and the crew on that train are responsible! So any tie down strap that is broken needs to be reported so that it can be replaced before that load comes off.
2 train meets in 5 minutes ! Who ever thought trains are a thing of the past and everything is moved by trucks is very much mistaken . Wonder what the tie downs were holding down .
a 3 grey day!! i wouldn't call those straps broke more like some lazy bastard left them hanging!! check out equestria iron hose fans channel what's in my recommended will definitely interest you trains!!

Looks like the apprentice got told to 'tie the train down' and took it literally instead of using the hand brakes. Besides you can't tie down a good train on CSX. THANKS WWOT 👍

Happy birthday 🎈 🎁 have a great day
Awesome!! Wouldn’t be surprised if the lose ties set off the detector though they were probably too light to do so.
Looks like a sponge Bob 😊
Well I guess it was just really fast 😊
Nice Video
2 csx intermodal train meet
Where is I001 ?? Did it change schedule? Haven't seen it on your vids recently.
Awesome video sorry I missed it live I was catching P448 with 130 and a PRR passenger car
Great video Sir!
Great Catches!
What is the first scene?
I think I never seen it before
Great coverage 😍👌
Awesome videos, Awesome DPU Alright 😊👍
Will those loose tiedowns cause an issue at the Defect Detectors?
They'll likely trip a dragging equipment detector if they hit the paddles on the tracks. They could tear up lineside equipment though dragging the way they are.
heaven forbid if one of those tie down straps were to hit some one.
I mistakenly said the other day that the yard in Louisville was the Moorman Yard, it is not.
The freight yard in Louisville is the Osborn Yard.
The Moorman Yard is in Belleview Ohio and is NS.
7:17 those rails look scary.. that dude was hauling azz
No bow?
did you guys have alot of flooding after all that snow thawed?
The tie down straps on CSX M367 should be in pretty sad shape by the time the train gets to Selkirk. Hopefully the straps won't get caught up on something and end up yanking the cargo off the train.
DPU Alright
ChainsawN&W1218, great video WWOT, that was crazy with the tie down straps o n that bulk head flat car, dangerous I seen one strap hanging off a center beam car awhile back in Roanoke VA on Virtual Rail Fan !👍🛤🚂
Hey wwot, did u hear? The senate passed a bill to avoid the possible rail strike. I figured they were gonna work something out
Smash that like button!
do you wave at the train drivers ?
Yes
Off topic. Couple of times during the video I thought my screen was cracked. Just twigs from a tree. Early in video and @10:35 eleven o'clock position on screen.
Hello ! Whoo! whoooo!
the defect detector will more than likely catch that.
Did you call C.S.X. and report those broken straps?
@CNGuy1987 all those straps were not just there for decoration. They were there to secure a load. With that many straps, it had to be an extremely heavy load. And with all of them broken straps that load is no longer secured to that car. I could have missed it, but I don't recall seeing a load on that car. 2 train meets in 5 minutes ! Who ever thought trains are a thing of the past and everything is moved by trucks is very much mistaken . Wonder what the tie downs were holding down .
Oh that's very very bad he's dragging no straps that may trip a equipment defect detector
Maybe whatever was strapped down is gone🤷🏽♂️
Dragging equipment? Those tie down straps should have been secured.
👍 👍
Those straps won`t be worth a darn .
Either the straps are of poor quality, or they were not tied properly to begin with.
Now if you would just stop saying DPU alright the video might be enjoyable
@CNGuy1987 annoying is what it is and he says it repeatedly on the fairport cam
a 3 grey day!! i wouldn't call those straps broke more like some lazy bastard left them hanging!! check out equestria iron hose fans channel what's in my recommended will definitely interest you trains!!
201 cars
WWOTs! you are the triple meet king & DPU maestro keep it up!💯👍🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋.
