Nothing like Xhaka in profile. He's a lot more of a dual monster but his pass % is in the 70's sometimes even 60's but rarely 80's. Xhaka is a ball retention mentranomy type - keeps his pass percentages in the high 80's and low 90's - all about retention and methodical progression.
Pass percentage is a lot more related to Sociedad imo. Also “nothing like Xhaka” is a bit far 😂 but as I said in the video there are differences and I’d agree Xhaka is more reliable 🤝

To me Xhaka's primary utility is in his control of tempo, Mikel Merino doesn't have that, he's a lot more all action and I'd say works as a box to box CM. Also, his pass percentage is sticky has been low at Newcastle and the same at Dortmund, so not sure the Sociedad hypothesis flies.

If he comes in he is replacing Elneny. He is not coming to be a starter on that left 8 or as a 6.
