Fun fact: when Foreigner toured in 2019, they had a contest in every city they played in for high school choirs to compete to sing this song with the band on stage. It was fantastic.

This song....the choir takes it over the edge! I get body chills & teary eyed. When you hear it as a teen it takes on different meaning when you get older. When you've experienced love& lost this song takes on a different vibe.

Lou Gramm is one of the most underrated rock singers of all time.
Underrated by who? I've always known him to have one of the greatest rock voices. By the way, Foreigner was both the first concert that I ever saw back in 1981, and the last one I was at a few years ago. Although I missed Lou Graham, it was still enjoyable.

Probably somebody here has already mentioned this, but the band is called Foreigner because some of its members were American and others British, so no matter where they were, at least someone in the band was a foreigner there.

I absolutely love to watch and listen to Leo as he listens to our old songs, it almost always makes me rethink or listen to it differently. Funny how as teenagers we didn't "get it" but as older and wiser adults we can see it differently through someone else's eyes or heart.

1984... good year in music! This song debuted at #1 on Billboard. Written by Mick Jones and Lou Gramm on vocals. Gramm experienced some health issues with a benign brain tumor. Affected his mobility and voice. Cruel how life takes your greatest gift when it’s at its best. Foreigner began in mid 70s. By the time I went to college, Foreigner was top band. Corporate rock was amazing!

FYI: The song features backing vocals from the New Jersey Mass Choir affiliated with the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Dreamgirls star Jennifer Holliday, and featured keyboard work by Thompson Twins frontman Tom Bailey. It made the song what it is!

My daughters high school choir was honored to be chosen to sing the chorus during this song WITH Foreigner 5 yrs ago. During their concerts they give students the opportunity to be on stage. It was awesome!

Oh I love this song so much. It is beautifully made. Listen to it several times a week. The new Jersey Mass Choir was brought in to sing the backing vocals. By the way it was the first gospel choir on a #1 pop hit.
Those angelic voices belonged to a choir they had assist them, I apologize for not remembering which one. This came out "awhile back". You may like other songs by them. I'd suggest "Urgent", "Women", "Juke Box Hero" and "Waiting for a Girl Like You" (plus others I'm sure people have left in the comments by now). Stay warm, Leo!!

Foreigner and Boston were the first CD'S I bought when CD'S came out and used these to set up my stereo. This song is Iconic.
This is yet another song that hits harder and harder as you get older ... and at the same time lifts you higher and higher when the last part with the amazing choir kicks in. Just the joy on everyone's faces.
