    If we had read the SCTV version of Julius Caesar in 9th grade instead of the Shakespeare version, I might have paid more attention.

    I love that they name all their characters after Russian hockey players. Mikhailov and Kamensky. So many subtleties. The GUM report. You don't see that on Three CP2!

    From what I could tell, the naming of Caesar's chief nemesis as "Bluto" in this bit was a reversal of the made-for-TV King Features "Popeye" cartoon shorts of the 1960's where the sailor's rival was renamed Brutus.

    John Candy's character is called "Bluto." I know the story and I don't think there was a Bluto involved. But there sure as hell should have been.

    At 1:48 they clearly has placed the Red Lettering "Today in Moscow" above something in white. Does anyone know what that was and why they did this?

    I always loved SCTV, and it was Canadian, so I guess this when they were going for the Murrican market, but... Funny to see the Yanks with Trump now under the thumb of Russia. Oh how the mighty have fallen

      No, it can't. And Russian TV is different from North American TV, so it won't show up on North American TV at all.
