Yes must say you do it just right ,quick intro, to each vehicle then straight to the sale or none sale as the case may be. Makes a very pleasant change from the usual B/S that most spue out ! I have now given up on classic cars as I can't afford a quality one . Always had a hankering for a Triumph Stag, see you had at least one in the auction, great cars, lovely to look at and fabulous sound. Well done on this video guys, thoroughly enjoyed!
MK4 Escort RS Turbo's came in a number of colours, White, Black, Metallic Grey and Red and weren't quite as exclusive as the MK3 which as mentioned mainly came in white apart from the Diana car plus I believe a couple of other black ones.
I work on older cars, bmw and porsche mostly. The big issue with the classic car world in the last few years is it has become “lifestyle” and “trendy” Billions got invested to create auction houses and selling of said lifestyle. What happened? Well they needed cars to sell so everything became a “classic”. Many people got leveraged into “investments” when in fact they got misled. You have an entire group of people that overpaid for things simply because someone on youtube or media said “life this lifestyle” “be cool and trendy” “make a classic car your entire identity”
Same thing has happened with watches like Rolex and Porsche cars in general thanks to the Instagram generation. The amount of pics I see with a steering wheel and a watch promoting some kind of ‘look at me’ lifestyle. Problem is, this lot were funded by mindless Bitcoin profits where they did absolutely nothing and ended up with piles of cash to blow on all this crap, inflating prices until the next ‘lifestyle’ fad comes along.
It all started with every TV police show where the main character has to drive a classic. Jag, Land Rover, Bristol even a Holden in a New Zealand cop series. Think I bought Triumph Stag £2200. Jag XJS V12 only 6 years old £4000. Triumph Spitfire £1500. Now they go for £20,000
That Mk2 Escort looked great, I would've bought it if I had known about it. Sadly, I've noticed there's a couple of auction companies that don't advertise the vehicles enough before the auction.
I bought my 1st car there. A 1984 red fiesta 950 poplar for £770. Drove it for a year, then sold it for £995. Might pop down there to get my son’s first car.
After the iconic car auction at the classic car show this weekend I’d say the classic Ford prices are still very much alive. Over £200k for an escort Cosworth and various other RS models sold for a premium…….
I bought one of those Mercs.. 280E sight unseen for £1200..in New Zealand..its the engine being the selling point..2,8 twin cam injected...was a rust bucket..stuck it back on online starting at £1...and it went for £2800..happy days...
I owned an almost identical Vitesse in BRG on a G plate, with fully colour-coded bumpers and red inserts. It looked the part and had a well-finished interior. Ride was a bit choppy, electric sun roof used to jam and rear seat was cramped/set too high but it was for the era, quite peppy. Unfortunately, bought 6 months old with 2.5k on the clock for £8,750, it had been crash-damage repaired and I had no end of problems with the paintwork on one side and on the rear bumper, in addition to water leaks in the boot. Spoilt an otherwise decent car (a Honda in drag), but Hyacinth in a Vitesse….I don’t think so! £3k sounds a bit rich to me. Great channel content by the way.
Just needs to throw in another 50k and will be a great car. Sprayed black of course. Bitcoin millionaires are out there buying stuff we can only dream of.
I cant understand the prices Escorts pull. I had a '72 Alfa Giulia and drove it back to back with a mk2 and there was simply no comparison whatsoever. The Alfa had a 1600 twin cam all alloy motor with sidedraught 40s, 5 speed transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes etc from the factory. They'd both get you from A-B but thats where all similarity ended
At 15:00 the guy was just continually holding up his bidding card. I bought some cars at auction where I was prepared to pay a lot more than the arguing bids. I just shouted out my highest offer and the other bidders shut up and I got it. Better in my opinion than getting dragged along 1k at a time. He got a brand new top of the range practical Mercedes, far superior to any of the new ones, for half the price of a starter Mercedes, or for the price of a posh Focus.
@@oscarsgarage447 No, I am in England. Normal bidding is you raise your hand once, the bid goes up, you lower your hand, the other guy raises his hand and increases the bid, then you raise yours and increase your bid. That guy was going to buy the car whatever the price, and he wouldn't stop bidding till the other guy gave up.

Bought a 1 owner split screen camper in 1988 for £450 . Welded her up , sprayed it baby blue and reupholstered. Sold her 2 years later for £750 . Thought I was the Scottish Arthur Daley 🙈
Its still a 1.3L 4 door escort at the end of the day even with the low miles & thats why it did not make the big money! We all wanted a Mexico ,RS2000, 1.3GT 2 door back in the day.We still want one today & will pay big money for one.
