Woohoo! Perfect timing. I got a beaded rope yesterday, and I'm trying it out today. I usually use a freestyle pvc rope. Glad for this video to be on my recommended.
jst ordered my first jump-rope from these guys a day ago and this is the one:) should be perfect for learning cuz beaded ropes are a little slower and i will need all the help i can get!! it arrives tomorrow, so thanks for the quick delivery and i luv the fun ebook that comes with it too. here's a thought, GLOW IN THE DARK BEADS... Agrrrrrrr!
The beaded rope was the firsts type of rope I loved, but when I learned the criss cross in May I switched to a one pound rope. BTW, the one pound rope I got was solid thick PVC and I didn't like it that much at first. I bought it mid October and it was getting cold/got cold so maybe that had something to do with me not liking the one pound rope. It kinked up and then eventually didn't. I assumed it stopped kinking from being used, but from what you tell in the video, it was the cold.
Good question. I would say, in general, yes as one tends to have more control with a beaded rope than a typical PVC rope. A cable rope would be a nightmare for a mic release.
If you're having difficulty completing the second swing you definitely want to focus on technique and use a basic 5mm PVC rope. We carry several of them and they're all $9.99. The only difference is color. We offer a 10 video double under tutorial series on RUclips. Feel free to check it out. www.punkrope.com/jump-ropes
Hi Nekisha! That's a really good question and I wish there was a clearcut answer but it really depends. If you're a complete beginner and didn't jump rope as a child you'll probably do best with the Beginner's Luck. The beaded rope is also a good rope for beginner's but is much more difficult to adjust. Also, we're almost sold out of it. The classic rope would probably be a better choice down the road. Hope that helps. Email us at punkrope@gmail.com if you have additional questions.

Temperature can be a huge factor with plastic ropes.
Nice video! Question that I have is, is a beaded rope easier to do a mic release with? Thank you!

If I'm a true novice, which one of your ropes would be best? Beaded, classic, or beginner's luck? Thank you
