Col 3:4 from where this song was evidently derived says something different. It says when Christ who is our life appears we will appear with Him in glory. This song says Jesus will be here on the earth, restoring everything and sin will be abolished. Where is the promise of Jesus to receive us unto Himself, that where He is, there we will be also? (John 14:3).
Mark, thanks for the comment! The song doesn't mention every detail of Jesus' return, only the effects of his return. Acts 3:21 says that Jesus will be in heaven "until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago." Other things will take place, of course, but Jesus will restore all things. Is that helpful?
It made me wonder too if they believe the rapture of the church and Christ’s second coming are two separate events or one in the same..... I long first for the rapture.
