Thank for posting all this info it shed light on doing this job myself, and all the parts I needed to order, I did this myself starting at 6 am and finished by 12 pm and believe me it's a tough job but once you get it out it goes back just slightly easier lol and thanks again
I am so glad to have found this info! I have searched and traced all the tubing and couldn’t find leak . I had determined it had to have been coming from that area after having it upon ramps several times. I even took the wheel and wheel cover off and out to see if I could trace it. Where did you get that sheet with part info? Where did you order from? Any part numbers? This leak has exhausted me!,, finally this may be it. Pretty sure it is too.thanks I appreciate you doing the video.
Your very welcome. Yea I could t find it either till my coworker used a mirror and then we saw the leak. The sheet I got from the website which is audiusaparts.com. They normally sell all Audi parts at a discount compared to ur local Audi dealer. The connector pipe is 079-121-071-bs. I also order the prongs on the ends Nd u will need hose clamp from ur local hardware store if u try to do it like I did cause there no way to gets pliers in there to put back their version.
Damn sorry to hear about your accident but I need to clear something up when I say the right hand side I mean the driver's side and this little screw you will see it is right next to the silver pipe don't try to tighten it or loosen it just clean it up and glue the hell out of it that's for those who still have their Audis
Charlie Newell yea it is. Some of the screws I was putting them back in with two fingers. Audi is a joke with that. $100k car and they decide to put a plastic pipe where hot coolant runs through.
Hi David, I just found your video....very helpful. Are there any other parts needed to order to complete this repair like o rings or clips? planning on doing mine too...thanks
Your welcome. Yea toward the end of the video I show the two o-rings on the paper and u will need a hose clamp to retighten the hose cause u can’t put back the clamp that’s on there due to not having any room for the pilers unless u have that specialty tool that’s made for those style clamps.
Hey thanks for this video I had the same problem but after I change the pipe I still have a little leak it wasn't from the side that I fixed it was on the right hand side and what it is is a little screw on the lower right that's connected to the pipe you don't have to take anything off you can see it with a flashlight if you see antifreeze on that little screw just clean it off with some alcohol and let it dry then glue the hell out of it with some Gorilla Glue and let it dry overnight and that would help that problem
Yea I had a little leak after too but I didn’t look into it cause it was very small leak plus I Didn’t have my car for very long after unfortunately it got into a accident
Man, I couldn't figure out where the leak was coming from and it was pouring so had to be found and fixed. Your video gave me an idea where to look and there it is the same f(&$#g pipe cracked at the same spot. Thanks for the upload! How long did it take to change? It looks to be pretty shitty and tight job
Took me and my coworker about 3 hrs. It is a very tight and shitty job but it cost me $100 instead of $1500 at the dealer. If u can find a good foreign car shop they probably charge like half.
@@DD87336 Thanks for the heads up! Ordered the part hopefully I can do it myself for about half a day and I hope it's going to be sunny in Chicago area :) Cheers!
I think either my union next to the connector pipe is messing up or the seal between the two is bad. How hard is it to remove the intake pipes sitting above there? Never taken anything off of my audi yet.

Thanks for the Video my 2012 A8 overheated and was not sure where the leak was coming from but I think this video will help.
Yea it’s in the worst spot. I needed a mirror to even see the leak
Ayyyye this was perfect i couldn't find my leak to save my soul and this video was exactly what the problem was 😊
Thank you for uploading this video it was very helpful.
Your welcome!
Thanks for sharing this, I have a coolant leak on my 2012 A8 so will check out this pipe.
Mike's Garage np! It’s a common problem on this car. $100k car with a plastic coolant pipe. Germans are getting dumb

thanks man I have the same thing in my 2012, 104k, Thank you
Mine took a crap at the same mileage.
Getting ready to tackle this and was wondering if you need to drain the coolant? TIA
I didn’t. U will have alittle possibly leak out when removing it but that’s it
@@DD87336 good to know thanks
@@DD87336 David how does the coolant pipe come undone on both ends? Does it twist apart or or pull apart can’t seem to figure out how ot comes apart
@@libanosman7055 from what I remove u have to undo one of the ends so u have room to remove the pipe and yea I just pulled it out after that
@@DD87336 thanks I appreciate the info. Wish me luck
I had to replace mine as well, it was a tough job. That plastic almost crumbles like wet clay.

I had to replace mine as well and it sucked. It took me forever to replace it

Did u have to remove the fuel lines to get to it?
Juan D. Nope.
What's the part number
Part number of the coolant pipe connector is 079-121-071-BS/. It’s cheaper now then when I bought it from audipartsusa.com
