Why this mans work is not on every symphonic orchestra's schedule is beyond me. It's a wonderful mixture of jazz, romantic, classical etc; that has it's own
    unique sound

Because mediocrity and show-off are the prevailing values. If you are a pianist, you will know that this composer requires the highest possible technique, which, professionally speaking, won't raise the contract's fees!

@@Nooticus Kapustin's zodiac sign is Scorpio-Sagittarius Cusp, which definitely explains why so many of his pieces sound so free, adventurous, outgoing, and energetic.

If you like this, take a listen to Kapustin's Second and Fourth piano concertos, as well as his 8 concert etudes. Kapustin is a fantastic composer, and his list of works is rather nice.

Love Kapustin! Too bad,,I discovered his music many years after leaving Moscow, where I grew up in times , when he was big. If I knew better I would hear him in Moscow, where he performed quite often. Ooh, if only….
My favorite performer of Kapustin is Frank Dupree with his trio. Not only musical and technical perfection, but very entertaining.
