Yes! This semester is much more manageable so I want to up the amount of videos and blogs I post. 2L has been way better than 1L and I hope your apps go well! I know it’s so much effort but you’ll crush it 🙏
Thank you! Always happy to see your comments and DMs 🥰 I will make a more timely video about 2L haha but for now yes it has been so much better than 1L
We had a very similar LSAT journey... I got a low 160's first try and then cancelled. Not sure what happened but i froze up on games and must've got like 4 wrong there alone. I then took it a second time and got high 160's and I just got January back and got a 171. Those two more points would have been nice though so I could've hit school medians at T-6 but hey anything over 170's is nice. Hopefully I get in somewhere in the t-14. Thanks for sharing man
I hope it works out the way you want! And definitely those last few points are so hard to get because it could have just been one or two questions at that point. That score is amazing tho and you can always use your other application components to make a great story. Best of luck!
@@tydieofficialI would definitely want to come tour Columbia. If you’re down to help with a tour one day that would be awesome. I am in the city. Would it be cool to reach out on instagram?
@@zachfinemusic you can dm me there but I think the school has student ambassadors who are open to give tours. They’d also probably be better at it since I’m not on campus as much.
@@zachfinemusic ya no problem! The school is also redoing the entire law library so the building will be closed all summer just for your tour plans. It will have to be before classes end this semester or after summer
Love your content. Starting second semester on my 1L at Georgetown. First day of Con Law, had to argue why Trump should remain on the ballot...lol. Really enjoying law school and hoping you are too.
Best of luck on your second semester! And LOL classic con law professor move "Welcome to class lets talk about this wild event happening". I've been enjoying it more now that I have more control over courses and have gotten to do more work with clients and experiential stuff. I hope the rest of 1L goes well!
Hi Tyler, many thanks for your great production and all the candid comments on your experience so far. If you don’t mind, could you please share why you chose Columbia Law over Penn Law since you were accepted into both programs last year? ❤❤
Yes omg it was essentially between those two for me and at the end of the day they both gave me similar scholarships so that variable wasn’t much of the problem. Tho I knew NYC cost of living would be higher but I wanted to live in NY and would have likely gone to NY after graduating even if I went to Penn so it made sense to build my network here. Also from a program perspective CLS had more gender and sexuality law programs to get involved with at the time which I wanted. I think I would have been happy at either but it mainly came down to program options at the schools and location.
Hey Tyler, another Tyler here. I'm currently deciding on law schools to attend and have narrowed it down to 2 schools: Columbia and Duke. Duke was my #1 coming into the cycle, but Columbia has nominated me for a fellowship, making my decision far more difficult. I found this video incredibly helpful, but is there anything else you could offer to help me differentiate Columbia from Duke?? Thanks in advance!!
Hey Tyler! Feel free to dm me on IG or something with more specific questions. In all honesty I didn’t apply to Duke just because I didn’t think it would be a great fit for my partner and I lifestyle wise but happy to speak to any questions you have about CLS in dms and try to provide helpful insight. Congrats tho and you have amazing options so I’m sure either are great choices and it’s really down to what you want most (less debt, city wise, programs, etc).
I am in my 4L , I am doing a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB Hons) I am in my final year of law school. I was thinking of going to the states for law school but the fees will be too much , so instead I just doing my Law degree in my country.
It wasn’t really about the constitutional amendments that impact criminal law. More about different elements of major crimes like homicide and such. There is another criminal class that’s optional that gets into the issues you mentioned tho
Hi Tyler , welcome back , love your video , my daughter also in 2L at Osgoode Hall Law and she going to Page Law in Mar to join The Competition there, hope to see you in newyork 😊
It wasn’t intentional. I never had the intention of being a lawyer but throughout my career in advertising realized law would be a better fit for my goals so I changed careers.
@@debatian. still nailing down the specifics but hopefully my job this next summer will help me have a better idea of I enjoy corporate or litigation work more. Specialty area I’m pretty open but I’d love to do work in privacy and cybersecurity or intellectual property
@@tydieofficial That's so cool! Do you have any advice for aspiring lawyers still in high school? What was your major and do you think it was important in applying for law schools?
@@debatian. I double majored in communication studies and religious studies. Idk if that made much of an impact I just studied what I found useful for my career goals at the time and that aligned with my interests. I think doing something I enjoyed helped me to get better grades tho which definitely helped my application. I’m not sure if the subject matter was as important. But if you want to do patents then you should major in something in stem but otherwise things are very open and you can apply to law school with various majors. I’d say pursue what you’re interested in.
Tyler's back at it again! Loved this video. And hope 2L is going gucci. Applying to schools this cycle and it is pain lol
