That is impressive. The fact that it understood the error you described and corrected it was HAL9000 level A.I. In a couple of years I can imagine it will be able to do the entire circuit board design with knowledge of LVD, EM compliance and RF fundamentals for High speed digital signal propagation. It wouldn't surprise me if AMD and INTEL plow $ billions into developing A.I. design platform.
we must realize chat gpt isnt like the commercial ai systems that are specifically trained for particular job,,also the key to getting them to work is the prompt ,some of the commercial ai have prompts of 100s of pages,writing prompts is a talent in itself, so with the one sentance loose prompt we saw here ,was pretty impressive

I Asked Chat gpt to read a jpg schematic for a microphone preamp (Langevin AM16) and it did it's best to try and figure out the schematic. I asked it to calculate the Total THD in the circuit and the expected gain range. I then mentioned it was a classic design that was considered to sound similar to a tube mic amp. And then I asked if it knew why it might sound similar to a tube circuit and it mentioned the circuit was using JFET's which have distortion characteristics that are similar to tubes. It was transformer coupled like a tube amp, and several other comparisons which demonstrated that this software is a heck of a lot more than just a fact retrieval chatbot. It's pretty amazing and will continue to improve greatly in the future is my guess!
@@interruptlabs I pointed to the exact URL where a schematic was. It can accept Web references. In one instance of doing this it said that the webpage was not available. I said that I could make the page come up no problem. I asked it to try again. It said it made a mistake the first time because the image was from Geocities that it thought was defunct, but realized it was archived on the wayback machine so it could actually find the image after all. That's thinking in my opinion!!. I was asking its advice on which type of input transformer to use for one of my own potential projects ideas on a classic reproduction of a preamp with hybrid components. And it had all types of advice and explanations about proper impedance matching and types of components to use and suggestions about alternate transformers op amps and whatnot. Of course you have to be directive with every question but I am O.K with that. Since I am just a hobbyist and not an EE this should help greatly in my understanding of how to use components and design circuits, and hopefully pursue my ideas further. And even if not, it's nice to chat and learn anyway!! I didn't find the Bing chatbot as useful, but I am sure it has its own strengths and weaknesses as well.

when this is connected to the internet you will be able to do a lot of things I believe that the standardization of the electric circuits will benefit IA.
You might create a circuit for transient analysis cir or the net list from file from Circuit schematic diagram for simulation from your implemented circuit and copy and paste the net list and aditional sysntax and ask chatGPT to perform a time related output with its syntax or transient analysis, or even probe analysis or spectrum and montecarlo analysis.
This is great! I would offer a single critisim of your setup not your tech. Your keyboard is quite overpowering with the clicks. Perhaps a tweak to your microphone, filter? I am not sure. Just wanted to let you know.
The algorithm only "understands" based on its training. 555 circuits are very common and there's tons of publicly available content that could be ingested. But ChatGPT will never know how to design a beamformer with an Analog Devices chip whose datasheet you can't read without signing NDAs. There is an entire world of proprietary IP which is completely outside its reach and will remain so.
It would have to create it by piecing together information from open sources. Not impossible, but much harder, just like it would be harder for most people to do!
We are all currently running on hardware that was not designed by it's creators. My daddy don't know shit about what's going on inside me! I want an AI daddy!

I've seen it write code. If it can write code, then I see no reason it can't create schematics
Can you feed it datasheets? Many datasheets have examples of circuits for the devices, perhaps Chat GPT could learn from the data sheets first.
I haven't tried this, but maybe next time.
