- I bought the cheapest racing wheel I could find on Amazon. It was the Hori Racing Wheel APEX for PS5, PS4 and PC. I have been playing Gran Turismo 7 quite a lot and I wanted to dip my toe into sim racing. Here is my first Impressions of the wheel.

Its a great starter wheel just one thing you forgot to mention pal is some games you have to switch to controller instead of steering for games like grid legends and assetto corsa competition other than that it's a crackin wheel

Ordered this to enhance my GT7 in VR experience. I’m glad you like it. I’ve never used a wheel for games before so I’m curious to see how much it adds to the experience.
It’s definitely adds quite a bit. It doesn’t take a while to get used to it especially if you have been driving with the controller for a long time.

I got this wheel for my PS4 . I play Tony Stewart’s racing and the wheel will not work in (In Game) . It only works on the Home Screen . Why ? Any thoughts ?
Wow. Have you tried the wheel in different modes? Sometimes you need to change the setting on top of the wheel. Every game I have tried work just some needed more adjustments. Hope you get it working!
I have bought this a couple days ago can you post a video on how to set it up because I can't get mine to work in race room experience or at all I play it on pc please let me know if I'm doing something wrong or if I need a software.

I use my headset hooked to my dual sense. I think the only game that it was a little difficult to set up with the headset is crew 2.

Is it possible to use the buttons on the wheels instead of the pedals?
yes. I have been able to remap most buttons. Sometimes I just want to use the paddles to accelerate and brake and not use the pedals. Good question.
¿Does it have force feedback while playing for turns or just is spring loaded to bo back to "neutral"?
No force feedback. Just spring loaded.
My steering wheel is only going left any idea how to fix or reset?
I just did a quick search and I guess there is a way to reset it. Just google the steps and try it. If that doesn’t work I would think there is something wrong that probably can’t be fixed easily. I’m hoping the reset works for you.
What steering wheel and pedal mount will you recommend?
It lost me right at "270° turn" 100% I or somebody is going to try to turn out of a spin out and break the damn $200 thing.
I get it. You would have to turn it really hard to break it.
Does anyone have a good configuration for ps4 of this steering wheel?
Can you get rid of when the wheel catches where it snaps back into place
The only thing that comes off is the clamp on the bottom.

yes I had gamepass for PC and played horizon 5. This wheel is very easy to use, nothing to install.

Yes you can. But some gamers have been having problems using both the wheel and the controller at the same time.
Any idea how to get the shifters to work?? I’ve tried all my racing games for PS4 and PS5 on it and everything works except for the shifters. This is my first wheel. What am I missing ???
The padal shifters in the back? If so you usually have to change the game settings. Change the car from automatic to manual transmission. Hopefully you got it working properly!

Does it need to be clicked on to something or can be used on lap or liying on bed? And is it suitable for guys with big hands
It comes with a desk clamp that I think works best but you can unscrew it very easily making the bottom flat. Not sure how well it will sit with nothing because the base isn't very heavy. The wheel isn't big but I think it would be fine for any hand size.
Do you have problem with its brake? I use it for PS4 version GT7 and alway encounter the problem of no full brake in game. Sometimes only have 20% of the bar. Already changed for a new pedal set from the dealer.
I mainly use it on ps5 and it has been fine. The little use I had on the ps4 was okay. Did you try to mess with the sensitivity settings?

The new version works on ps5. I haven’t had any real issues.
I have a question: I'm getting this steeringhweel for my birthday but do i need a shiffter to really play or can i play without A Shifter?
It depends on how far you want to take it. I don’t have a shifter and have fun with it. The paddle shifters are okay if you just want to dabble.

The wheel doesn't have any vibration.

No. I tried to get it to work on the series s and it didn’t work.

Yes this wheel works with ps4 and ps5. You may just have to change the setting on top of the wheel which is very easy to do.

How can I set it up on my PS5
Very easy. Every game is a little different but you just use the buttons on top to set it up and connect it to the game.
does it work on need for speed inbound
I haven't tried it myself with this game but I did some research and I found an article on videogamer.com saying that it works. I haven't had any problems with connecting the wheel but with games like NFS Heat sometimes the center button on the controller is hard to find on the wheel. Hope that helps.
Does it work for asseto corso
I haven’t played it personally but I think it should. All the games I have played worked with this wheel.

You should be able to play farming simulator. I haven’t played a lot of it but I downloaded farming simulator 22 and messed around with the game.

Yes! Most NFS games work.
No vibration?
Mine doesn't have it. The older wheel may because I have gotten a few comments from others having vibration with theirs.
Does this have a touch pad?
Yes!
can this work for the game need for speed unbound ?
I haven't tested unbound to know for sure but if works with the other need for speed games. I would think unbound would be fine. This wheel has worked on all the games that I have tried so far.

how would you reverse on this?
Every game is a little different. Some when you hold the break down long enough it will go into reverse and other games I have seen them use another button such at triangle. You can remap the buttons to which ever you would like.

I don’t have the older version but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.
@@BryanTechCorner I think I’m going to stilll get this model as it’s better looking,Buttons are organised and less modes so it’s easy so select wat mode u want
need to update firmware to 1.33 which will work on ps5

The new version doesn’t support ps3. I think the older model supports ps3 and ps4.

@@iviest2419 there is no headphone jack on the wheel itself. Some games allow you to add second controller so you can get audio from the controller.
The music is too loud and crappy. lol can barely hear the talking.

@@mralex2614 I looked it and the website says “pc games can be played with software that supports the x input game controller API on windows”. It’s hard to tell on the pc side of things.
the latency is absurd, they need to make the cords shorter or software better, I go to turn but there is a big latency before it actually turns the wheels in the game.... waste of money. don't cheap out, save up for a bit longer and get a thrustmaster
its playble........... but annoying and off putting, half the time you run into trees because the wheel registers turning longer than you want, or starts turning later than when you start to turn
I’m have fun with it so far but I have no experience with any other wheels. It took me forever to get used to it coming from a controller.
I heard the thrust master was pretty good I just wasn’t sure on how much I was going to use it.
@@BryanTechCorner Thrustmaster is pretty good however they're more expensive same goes for logitech. Interestingly enough people keep saying save up for a thrustmaster but yet there is a thrustmaster steering wheel out there that costs the same as this RWA Hori apex which no1 seems to know about or chooses to ignore, probably due to it being pretty much the exact same as the hori lol. Right now the Hori is looking more appealing due to it's lower cost and the rising cost of living, that extra $80-$150 for a thrustmaster or a logitech wheel won't be affordable by a lot of people and would be betst used for food, clothes, drinks etc.

Will this wheel work for dirt 5
Yes it will. You will just need to change the wheel to normal mode instead of steering but it works just fine after that.

@@user-ly4on1dm8x there are three switches on top of the wheel. Just move the switch from steering to normal. The wheel may disconnect this is okay. Just hit the PlayStation button on the center of the wheel again.
