Tried it for the first time... and I am impressed.... The steering wheel is not perfect, but in Gran Turismo 7 it really works well. No kidding, the steering wheel being a bit like in controllers actually helps, the 270° rotation sounds like a shortcoming, but helps to catch cars that swerve with the tail. Really precise steering, great pressure point from the pedals. Although I haven't driven a racing sim for years, let alone with a steering wheel, I could drive really fast, without any driving aids except for a bit of traction control and ABS. Just started without adjusting anything except the steering mode and after three laps with the Porsche 356A in the music rally I got into the 718 Caymen GT4 Gr.4 for the first time in the game (the fasted car I ever tried at this point) at a track I never liked (Brands Hatch) and had a amazing and successful first race with the wheel. After that I tried the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept and even that worked. At Laguna Seca with GT3's I reached my limits, this is really a very difficult track.
Thank you for this great review, I ordered GT7 for PS4.... (at the moment it's still hard to get a PS5) and I now bought the Hori Apex RWA after watching. I think it is the right one for me, to get back into it simcade racing after a few years without a steering wheel.
As a diabetic with bad nerves in feet I really enjoyed the L2 R2 on wheel. Helped me rest my legs after work but yet enjoy some racing. I see they changed that. Bummer
I use this wheel and i will give you a tip on the top of the wheel there are some switches that say ps4 s or ps5 s make sure the switch is flicked to there this makes the wheel soooo much more sensitive this also allows you to use a controller with the wheel plugged in so you can use a headset/microphone enjoy!
I appreciate the review, well done. Not being able to use my G27 on my PS5 is anti-consumer to the point of criminal but I’m clearly not going to get away with a cheap replacement like this. Hi there. Steering mode is for games that support wheels and you get full use of all the functions. The other is for games that don’t support wheels. TBH of all the games I’ve used it on ice not had an issue with any, but if the game says “supports wheel” then use steering mode. HTH
I am trying to find out when the wheel is turned, what kind of resistance does it have? If you turn it far left and let go, does it automatically go back to center using a bungee cord type system? The farther you turn the wheel, does the resistance increase? I was thinking about buying this but I can spend up to $200 or $220, are there any good wheels with ffb and pedals? That’s exactly it. A bungee system, there is more resistance but not by much. It springs back when you let go. This is a budget wheel with budget features so if you are after a pro wheel maybe look elsewhere. In the GT7 settings there is a list of officially supported wheels. I’d suggest picking one of them if within budget.
@@CTAtechdesk I had a Microsoft wheel and thats how it worked which isn't as good as a ffb wheel but it works. The only other wheel I owned was another Microsoft wheel but it had ffb. This was 20 years ago and the ffb made it so much better even with a cheap ffb wheel with 20+ old technology. I don't have a PlayStation, I have a PC so I shouldn't have any problems with most wheels working correctly. I'm not looking for a pro wheel they are to expensive. I didn't know if there was anything that you knew of that had ffb and was a decent wheel for under about $220. Thank you for the reply I really appreciate it. New subscriber.

I have PS4. I tried to play NSF heat with this steering. After selecting the game with this steering wheel control, it asked me to press X button to start the game. I pressed the X button in the steering wheel. It did not work. But all the buttons in the steering wheel work. I can power off the PS4 with the steering wheel control, but i could not start NSF heat game.

Hello I recently bought this wheel to get into racing and when I’m racing the pedals on the wheel just go out randomly like my foot is on the pedal and that car just stops accelerating and when I let off it keeps accelerating is this a malfunction in the wheel or am I doing something wrong in the settings
Same here, but mine are the brakes, sometimes have only half brake for no reason, and before I got a replacement(just the pedals), mine even disconnect after tapping brakes. It sure does not last long.

What is the difference on Normal mode and Steering mode? Some games which only compatible with Normal mode and not Steering mode, are they played worse or inaccurate with the steering wheels?
I'm not entirely sure I've primarily used it on steering but on the times I had it in normal I've learned that it disables the paddles and makes it basically just an odd controller, but I haven't been able to get it to work on other games using normal.
@@CTAtechdesk actually not true, the old version works in GT7 for PlayStation 5 the same as this new revision, after update 1.33 it has two modes (PS4 and PS5) selectable when connected to the console, but even in PS4-S mode it works in GT7 ( of course in the PS5 version) and even the vibrations work then (in PS5 mode there is no vibration).
For beginners i would rather buy a Used Wheel that costs more at The time of The Original buying. A used Thrustmaster Or Logitech would be better for beginners and spending around The Same. Bought a t300rs for 130 Euros a few years ago. Will now Upgrade to a T598 i believe.
I had the PXN V9 and it would not work with my PS5. it worked for a little bit on pc then somehow just malfunctioned and now doesn’t work anymore. This one is better

I loooooovvvveee mine! It is a badass wheel, and I got it on Amazon for 90 bucks on discount. I play beamng drive with it and it works great

I believe that normal is 180 degrees turn. Steering is 270. But by pressing the assign button and L2 that puts it on 270 anyway.
