    Very comprehensive, thoughtful, and balanced review. I'm glad this video was promoted through the Trinnov newsletter. This isn't just a glorified promotional piece, but a true user review.

    Hey there, just another guy looking to plug some gaming consoles into a trinnov. So keep preaching fighting the good fight for us. Luckily I haven’t pulled the trigger on one and just doing research. Thanks so much for these details

    Hi Luke. This was by far the best video I have seen about the Trinnov. Very honest review and very much appreciated. Good Luck with your post-Gramophone adventures. I am very much looking forward to your Perlisten review. This is the exact system I am researching. Trinnov, Perlisten speakers, and McIntosh amps. Take Care, Ernest

    Great video! Finally real life impressions. I’m gamer and you frightened me about ps5 😮.
    Hdmi 2.1 has been annonced yesterday. 3000 extra 🤑…
    I’m building My project with the same spirit (all in one high end Atmos in living room : music, movies AND video games) I’m on xbox and ps5 and got a project with focal utopia 1000iwlcr on front, and a bit smaller for the surround/ Atmos and amplitude 16.
    I just hope that hdmi 2.1 will manage to deal with the gaming problems. As you said we are just a few worldwild to care about this, very hard to get answers…

      Thank you! Yeah, when I was working on this I was thinking to I myself that reviews should describe use cases and how they work out in real life. Can you share more about the HDMI 2.1 announcement? I’m struggling to find anything about it. Also your system sounds like it is going to be killer!

      I heard about the 2.1 News on a forum, coming from a pro retailer but I’ll probably contact Trinnov next week. I’ll tell you if I got solid News.
      And for my futur installation, yes, I’m so excited 🎉

    Great video been looking to upgrade for the same reasons your say they have issues, I'm also in a living room. Connecting my gaming consoles (xbox ps5) video losss and sound on my AVM 70. I agree paying that much I want everything to work. From my research I think I am going to go the Storm Audio isp core 16. Which perlisten speakers are you currently running S or R?

    • @lukerestlessstudios
      @lukerestlessstudios  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much! The storm stuff is really good too. Though they are also behind on HDMI 2.1. However I have a source who claims that they may have that ready by year’s end. I’m expecting that Storm may have something to say about that at Cedia this year, which is only two months away. As of right now my pick for a product that sounds good and “just works” is the Marantz AV10. I got to play around with one for a while and was well pleased especially for the price. My PerListen system is all S-Series with a custom finish. I’ll be talking about them soon. Just working on securing better gear to record with, my next video will be much better.

    Luke you are amazing 👏. Could you please advice. I am on a cross road Storm Audio, Trinnov or Marantz Av10(hopefully Dirac Art) i have 2.1 studio(can be a 5.1) can any of these product support both my atmos HT and studio from 1 amp. My HT and my studio is in the same room(my studio is behind my HT. MILLIONS OF THANKSSS

      No, you are amazing! Thanks for being here. Out of all them probably the Trinnov because you make different profiles for different configurations. This may be possible on the Storm I just don’t have enough first hand experience with it yet to say for sure. Now all that being said Trinnov does have a line of dedicated Pro Audio focused products designed for production studio corrections. I’d look into those as well.

    Great video. I wonder what speakers (and number of speakers) would you recommend to go with the Altitude 16? Also, do I need the Amplitude as well?

    • @lukerestlessstudios
      @lukerestlessstudios  4 месяца назад

      Provided you have the space, and a room that’s proportioned well for theater use by all means go with as many channels as you can up to 16 for the Altitude 16 that is, as they have the 32 for even more too. Now that said, almost always choose quality over quantity at least for the front stage channels (Left, Center, Right), and for your subs. The surrounds you can dial it back a bit if need be, but get something similar to the whole sound field’s timbre consistent. Like I was saying in the video, invest first in some top tier speakers before grabbing a Trinnov, “make it make sense” so to speak. You don’t “need” an Amplitude, but the gain matching is awesome, and if it’s within your means why not? Unless you are buying a set of monoblock class A amps or something like that for equal to or greater than cost and that’s each, I really don’t expect you to hear an appreciable difference. Especially when the dead silent and “gain on a wire” nature of the Amplitude just maximizes the work of the optimizer corrections and personalized target curve. As for what I like regarding speakers, I’d recommend: PerListen be it S or R Series, Wisdom Audio Sage or Wisdom series, Ascendo’s Be series, Sonus faber’s Arena line, Theory/Pro Audio Technology especially their active 3 way speakers, or KEF’s newest Dominus rated THX in walls.

    No HDMI 2.1 is definitely a disappointment, I truly hope Trinnov can figure it out. It's not about competitive. More than 60FPS simply *feels* much much more direct in any game. And with GPUs like RTX 4090, high refresh rate 4K gaming is easily a reality. Games deserve good audio no less than music or movies.
    ps. tube amps! like the ones for guitar cabs, yes? :D

    • @lukerestlessstudios
      @lukerestlessstudios  9 месяцев назад

      I agree completely. That was my almost exact experience. Being unable to use a 4090 to its potential in what was otherwise the god tier surround sound gaming experience was a real drag.

    • @Gamez4eveR
      @Gamez4eveR 9 месяцев назад

      @@lukerestlessstudios in the video I think you mentioned you had a 5.2 setup, do you have plans to incorporate height/overhead channels and perhaps rear and wide channels?
      also, I guess you could use one HDMI from the GPU for the video and one for the audio (direct from PC rather than eARC from TV), if your GPU has two HDMI ports. My 4090 has only one, so if I needed to achieve this I'd use a DP1.4 to HDMI 2.1 converter for the video. Haven't tried that myself but I think it's worth a try.
      AVP/AVR reviews definitely skimp on the gaming aspect (it is such a shame the gaming world tends to overlook the impact of audio as well!), so, even if I can't afford this summit-fi stuff, I appreciate knowing how it performs with this

    • @lukerestlessstudios
      @lukerestlessstudios  9 месяцев назад

      @@Gamez4eveR That is correct. Unless somebody sends me something for review and lets me keep it, probably not. I'm actually looking to sell my system as much as I love it in the name of greater priorities such as saving for a house, paying down debt, and funding this channel. I agree completely, gaming is here and growing by the day, today's games sound more immersive than many movies, the audio is a HUGE point that absolutely deserved to be properly experienced.

    • @Gamez4eveR
      @Gamez4eveR 9 месяцев назад

      @@lukerestlessstudios not just today's games, matrix surround was available way back on the SNES, and PC games with EAX got object based 5.1 and 7.1 even back to some late 90s titles (I myself enjoyed dedicated 7 channel surround in the original Thief games relatively recently)!
      Understandable decision with the system, maybe in the new house you'll get to build a new one, and maybe by that time CYP and by extension Trinnov will finally have HDMI 2.1 in their products

  • @sammy10001
    @sammy10001 9 месяцев назад

    I know you described this as the king of a product that can do everything, but it really is starting to seperate it self towards clients in the CI route, vs everday people like you with setups in the living room.
    How are you going to implement their waveforming technique (using subs to reduce rt60 of the bass region frequency) in your living room - You cant. And how are you going to game on hdmi 2.0 or a projector based system even if its hdmi 2.1 (but projectors still face not competetive latency) - you cant.
    The thought process of storm and dirac using speakers you already own to reduce RT60 with ART, rather than trinnov implementing a technique where you litreally have to build a false wall to hold up 6 subwoofers suspended in the air - is the big seperation between the two companies.
    Trinnov is the ultra pro space, probably homes of double and triple digit millionaires being sone by custom installers.
    Storm & Dirac is all the way upto uber enthusiasts, which id say we are.

      I mostly agree. It served me very well overall but as I described in the video, it certainly demonstrated it's limitations in this use case. I'm working on getting my hands on a Storm unit to compare against.
