When we did our home, we had a bunch of friends come together, and we asked them to write down a scripture for our home. We then put the scriptures that they gave us behind the moldings of all the doors and windows. You can’t see them, but the Word is there.
When my son married our daughter in law. I wrote scriptures on the studs in their entryway by the front door, the cutout where the fridge went, in their pantry and in the bedroom wall where their headboard goes. In several areas of the home as well.
Jay is very talented. And so patient. You have a pot of gold with him there. The pantry looks so nicely organized. Thank you Jay for the carpentry lessons. Thank you Abby for sharing.
I wanted to give this video at least 3 likes! The pantry is so nice and I love how you’ve given all the storage places in your house so much thought as to what will be stored there. That is a great advantage of doing it yourself and taking time to think those things through rather than being pressured by contractors. You and Jay are doing an amazing job!❤
I think Jay would be a great teacher for a local community course on carpentry (and all his other building talents). He's a natural teacher, and communities are often looking for teachers for adult courses like that.
So strange...there is no place for me to add a comment??! So, I will here! I love the pull out shelves!! How convenient! The narrower shelves do look nicer...it's all SO nice!! Love it! 💕
I've thought about this many times.... Painting the entry to your basement Chantilly lace would be so nice and cheerful, and I think you would love it. Even after you get a door on it, opening up the door and seeing the cheerful White, will make your whole kitchen look nicer. You don't have to go all the way down but everything you can see when you open the door. It would just be high quality and tasteful, like you😊
That was a lot of thought about cereal, for one who hasn't eaten it in over a decade. Made me giggle. 😂 The one appliance I never thought I'd want, or even own, is an ice cream maker. 🍦 🤤 Your home is Turning out so custom. Beautiful!
I love the scripture written into special places of the home! Abby, it is exciting to see the details being worked on! It is thrilling to see your dream coming true! 😊
Jay is so good at everything he does. God really blessed you with having Jay. I have watched you from the very first utube you made. Amazing the progress you have accomplished. Can not wait when you decorate your new home!
Looks very nice! You are so decisive and assertive for such a young lady. At your age, I would have settled for the thicker shelf to prevent any inconvenience to Jay but then I would have been frustrated every time I went in the pantry.😅 Always good to know what you want! Jay did not seem to mind the change at all.
The pull out cabinet could be placed near the pantry door allowing more room for a corner cabinet if there is room to do that and more cabinets along the back wall. Just a suggestion.
You're getting so good at carpentry you're going to need a shed for a workshop. You'll be making doll beds, foot stools, and little wardrobes fir Christmas presents!
I know it has been alot of fun seeing project from start to current. No matter what your level of expertise, you have to enjoy a young person embrace this task.
Higher grade formica OR marble/granite countertop would look good in that pantry! Stones are more heat resistant if you are to use something hot like a crockpot, roaster or airfryer. Love that pantry!
Hi Abby, it’s all getting closer and closer woohoo! I’m not one that likes anything on my counters either BUT,,,my kitchen aid mixer is left out on my counter and I simply decorate it in with decor and it looks awesome, it’s just to heavy taking it back n forth. You may wanna think about that. Also, they have the cabinet insert for heavy mixers that stays hidden behind the door and it just rises out and up when needed, one day I’ll get me one. Lol Good job! Jay what would sweet Abby do without you my friend? Not another contractor would have NEVER agreed Teaching while building. You’re awesome! ❤
Maybe you can consider some sort of a workdesk for the stuff to assembly, Jay is a great fellow, but sometimes he has a problem going down on the floor
Pantry looks amazing Abby!! Small shelves above the cabinet was the right choice. Cubby hole shelves is great use of a small space. Might need a stepladder to get to top of refrigerator storage. Nice planning for a little area, will done. 😊
I suggest when no doors on those shelves. you said floating correct?the more doors more to open .door into pantry is enough. your pull out is great.i have 4 cabinets on island in kitchen with 8 PUllout s.LOVE IT. HAVE FUN.
Oh, nice idea with these double floor shelfs to hide the wall mounting. Maybe I copy that 😁 so thanks for the inspiration. But maybe little bit thinner, there you're right. Have a great weekend! -Chris
Love what your doing with all the extra spaces/cubby holes!! very creative, Abby!! And who better to help you build them, our favorite guy, Jay!! God Bless A drill & A dream
Fits like a glove is my opinion. Its taken you a long time to this point but the end result is going to be perfect. I was on board with hiring a crew for mud and taping but you survived it. KC
You are sooo lucky to have found Jay!! Just think you could have been working with a grumpy old guy or a real bossy guy that didn’t like showing you how to do things!! Just imagine!! How all full!!! You guys are just such a GREAT TEAM! How lucky!!
I just love how you are making the most use out of every inch of space. Your pantry will make life easier, too. “Everything in its own space” is something I’m still working on…you have mastered it already! 😊
If you have any 1/4 inch plywood left, tack a piece of it onto the right side of the rack drawer closest to the wall. It will prevent small items from falling off the shelves into the space between the drawer and the wall where they would be a pain to retrieve.
Abby, your electrical outlets should be installed with the ground hole on top. If a plug is not all the way in and something metal falls it hits the ground first, if the hot and neutral are on top immediate short. Outlets installed sideways should have the neutral on the top.
It will be nice to have your frig built in, however I think you will find it's always a pain to go clear over to your pantry to access ingredients you need to prepare your food. T know they usually suggest a triangular pattern from your frig to your stove to your sink to save steps and make it convenient.
I hope all those plugs in the pantry are individual. My dad has his microwave, keurig and toaster on one run. If he tries to use the microwave with any of the other two appliances, the circuit pops. Yes, i use all 3 and pop the breaker all the time. 😂
Great job on the pantry. (Jealous ). I love that Jay is so patient with any changes you make. What’s next? I am hoping you get some light fixtures picked out, and radiators installed?? Or are you on a roll with cabinets for the kitchen? Cant wait to see what’s next, things are really moving along.❤
Love the functionality of the pantry making use of every inch. Jay is wonderful in making things happen according to your design. Great accomplishment to your dream home. 😊
Looks great! Jay is so patient and kind! He needs to leave his autograph in this house.
❤️❤️
Looks wonderful, and everyone could use a Jay in their life . What a talented man.
That pull-out in the pantry was genius!
The pantry looks great!! If we ever renovate or build I want pocket doors everywhere. They're so smart!!
I wish to do a shout out to Jay : Great Help , Great Teacher , Great Guy . !

We did that behind our kitchen cabinets

I can just imagine the stories when your grandchildren find out that you rebuilt every part of the house

That guy has the patience of a saint.
It has come along way from that creepy bathroom. Looks so much better. Your pantry is going to be amazing!
So strange...there is no place for me to add a comment??! So, I will here! I love the pull out shelves!! How convenient! The narrower shelves do look nicer...it's all SO nice!! Love it! 💕
How does jay get paid? Love him!
Firstly, you look pretty in red and secondly the pantry looks great 👍🏻
Definitely make some of your shelves adjustable.

It's going to be an awesome pantry. I have a walk-in pantry, 1st one I've ever had, I'm 73. All houses should have a walk-in pantry.
Lovely and love your dress!
The pull out cabinet could be placed near the pantry door allowing more room for a corner cabinet if there is room to do that and more cabinets along the back wall. Just a suggestion.
NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR ALL THAT.
Things are really starting to come together, so happy for you. You and Jay have done soooo much work on this beautiful house.
I wish I had a pantry I think it’s awesome pantry and I am sure you will fill it up!
You suit your red dress very pretty and summery looking.

Look at you, being a trim carpenter ❤. Great job, Abby and Jay !!!

Incredible progress on the pantrx Abby!!! 🥰❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
😊You two work together like a well oiled machine! What a great tutor Jay is....🎉
How exciting to be working on the kitchen 😊
You are sooo lucky to have found Jay!! Just think you could have been working with a grumpy old guy or a real bossy guy that didn’t like showing you how to do things!! Just imagine!! How all full!!! You guys are just such a GREAT TEAM! How lucky!!
Old guys don't get grumpy unless they have work with bossy boss babe women. Not the case here, good example for other women.
Gosh it is REALLY looking so good! What great planning and looking ahead is always a good idea too!
I just love how you are making the most use out of every inch of space. Your pantry will make life easier, too. “Everything in its own space” is something I’m still working on…you have mastered it already! 😊

Love the pantry, Jay is the man. Peace!
Pantry is so cool and very creative design features.
Love your pantry especially the pull out cabinet. I bet that will be your favorite as you start to live in that gorgeous home.
Wonderful pantry, lot of thought and planning pays off. Proud for you.
I love watching you and Jay. You have come a long way in your beautiful house. And I love your little red dress❤
Great video. Love the pantry
Love the pantry. And you look beautiful in a red dress.🎉
Yall work so beautifully together 🤍
Good work Abby and Jay!😊
If you put wood shelf above the refrigerator that would work but keeping the plasterboard not covered it will not last long.
What a good job yal doing
Moving along so well! Your pantry is going to beautiful as well as convenient. Very nice!
You should put up hooks on the back wall in the pantry to hang a small folding step stool.
Abby, your electrical outlets should be installed with the ground hole on top. If a plug is not all the way in and something metal falls it hits the ground first, if the hot and neutral are on top immediate short. Outlets installed sideways should have the neutral on the top.
Jay is amazing! Please send me the link so I can order a Jay. 😅

Kitchen Aid mixer "most used" appliance sounds like some good baked goods from that kitchen 👍
So pretty in Red ♥️.
Awesome video honey.
I can’t wait to see those floors get refinished.😸
Assign Trudy the high shelves
I was thinking what you did around the sink in the bathroom would look gorgeous in there
I hope all those plugs in the pantry are individual. My dad has his microwave, keurig and toaster on one run. If he tries to use the microwave with any of the other two appliances, the circuit pops. Yes, i use all 3 and pop the breaker all the time. 😂

Loving the pantry
I have room, but I always lay cereal boxes on their side. Make sure to close the cereal tightly!
Great job and loved the video 😘👍🏻💕💕🙏🏻🙏🏻

You could use some of the uppers to make a cabinet for under the TV.
Love the functionality of the pantry making use of every inch. Jay is wonderful in making things happen according to your design. Great accomplishment to your dream home. 😊
You might do the stairs while you are waiting on flooring.
Oh dear ! All that crawling about would have been obviated with two Sawhorses (even if Jay hates them).
Beautiful pantry
Under the microwave would be a great place for paper towels and trash bags and such!
