We all knew Rocky Hansen was special, but somehow he still managed to shock everyone. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season unfolds. Also, big congratulations to Graham Blanks on taking home the individual victory.
He has a tattoo of number 2 on his back. I respect that. Everybody wants to be number one. Perhaps Nico is setting a new trend. Number 2 is the new number 1. Seriously though he beat a lot of studs. Samuel from New Mexico is going to be tough. He was 17th at the world xc championships in the senior division and he has already run 27:20 for 10000 at 19. Not a bad guy to beat among many others.
In last year’s NCAA Collegiate Championships, their fifth guy came in 39th. Coincidentally the year before that their fifth guy also came in 39th. They’ve been national champions six of the last seven years (in 2019 they sucked - by NAU standards - and came in second.)
Crazy that NAU’s 5th man was 33rd overall. Even crazier in the Women’s race their 5th runner came in 18th. Crazier still, NAU women have enough left over for a second team to run the B race and they won that too with their first three coming in first, second, and third.
Whoa; I am so excited for Graham Blanks and the Harvard team! (On a personal note, my son roomed with Harvard's cross country team, in Dunster, just before Graham Blanks arrived.) Blanks has been persistent in making improvements from excellent to elite in the NCAA ranks.
Haha, my guy William Zegarski taking out the race! Best Ohio High School runner in the 2022 class. He worked at Fleet Feet this summer in Loveland with me taking away my title as fastest runner to work there, very handily😂
NAU will be even stronger if they get Sahlman back. Also, Prosser seemed to have a leg issue in the last split. Went from 4th to 29th. If he can get into the Top 20 like he did at the Championship last year, no team will beat NAU this year.
Running on the grass in the rain would slow him down a bit compared to the Chicago course, but surely he would be up at the front and continue on for 5x longer at that pace, which is still hard to wrap your mind around.
Really impressive running and also the production in these conditions. Well done! Something else that I'm impressed about is the timing system. It seems like passive tags were used in this race, and most runners seem to have a green wristband on them. Anyone know if that's the tag for timing? Is there a tag on the bibs as well or any other place? At this density of runners I find it really "odd" that the reliability and accuracy can be this high. I time races myself with passive tags and mats similar to this, but haven't seen it this reliable as of yet.

Probably the most underrated freshman out there
That was like mazed out diesel coming into the finish.
Might’ve slowed a few down a bit… congrats to Blanks and ROCKY MF HANSEN!!
Death, taxes, and Nico Young as a runner up.
He'll have his day eventually!

Rocky Hansen coming in 6th is the craziest part of this race

@@partickstar1135he’s a true freshman who wasn’t even the top dog last spring and known more for his middle distance ability
he's for real.
@@partickstar1135same lol I'm a football fan
@@calvinonmche had the fastest xc time last year at 14:20. Somebody may have run faster late in the season but that time was #1 for most of the season
Great work there Nico Young.
Here's to failure. Man those were tough conditions. Great kick and so great to see Harvard win something in this sport
He just won nationals
@@ccbgaming6994 yeah i thought he would. he's tough and the course favor toughness.
Great to be able to rewatch this race! Keep'em coming for us across the pond
5 in the top 30... incredible.

no one cares about your son
rocky bro
Thanks for posting the video big fan of XC
I’d say the most impressive part of this race was the true freshman rocky right up there
is that guy from Michigan's name actually Tom Brady lmao
Blanks has a great stride.
Great race!

UNC's Parker Wolfe, while he faded, continues to improve gradually.....
Don’t forget Alex Phillip, the D3 national champ

Kiptum could have ran a marathon and these guys would be over 20 seconds behind him for his 8k split 🤯

NICO YOUNG🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dude that won didn’t even take his beanie off 😂 just getting warmed up
Smart running
The iron runners never worry the bad climate, rain or Wind.
Congratulation to all...
this weather was significantly bad
Bishop went out too hot…
I think we all know the best runner here which is ofc Tom Brady from Michigan 🫠 12:30
8K in 23 minutes? That’s crazy. That’s my 5K PR.
you slow as shit boy
Well this is the best of the best
Nau looking good as usual. Nau woman won team too. Crazy

2:35 first K 😂 nice pacing
BYU didn't have two of their top runners...Casey Clinger and Davin Thompson. They would be right up their with NAU with those two.
Why isn't Davin Thompson running? Injury?
Where’s Salzman of NAU?
Graham blanks is my cousin
Litttttttt
'I wish I could feel their feet' 😂😂😂
The guy commentator was kind of a jerk did anyone else notice that? Didn’t back up his co-host at all
real Q tho, when was the last time the young brothers raced eachother ?
Rocky Hansen is HIM wtf
I was hoping one of them would fall and be left paralyzed
let’s go orange #syracuse 🍊
Nico Young segundon!
This is a brutal sport
