what a wonderful gift this mother has given you! Nobody here knows her story but just goes to show how much love she had for this baby that she wanted to make sure he was brought up the best way he could be! Awesome to know you guys are keeping her apart of his life as well. Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy!
Thank You for Loving Your Children SO Much!! You & Your Family are going to be So Blessed by these two Beautiful Children You now have!! Much, Much Love!!
Bless your whole family for loving such a sweetie and the mother for wanting the best for her child. I think that adoption is a positive thing. Bittersweet for everyone in some aspects but really shows so much love and selflessness from everyone. Thank you for being you!!!! Xoxo
So happy I stumbled across this video!! This was so sweet! I cried through most of it. My husband and I are currently in our second year of waiting to adopt. Cannot wait for this moment ourselves. God bless your family!
Thanks for sharing that wonderful video. It is very clear that you have a very loving family. God bless and all the best to the little siblings... Love from Denmark
+Lin Gin Actually, Jackson is an English origin name and a common English and Scottish surname. It just became popular in the past decade in the US after celebrities started using it. Trust me, Jackson isn't a very common name in the South. Plus the baby is adorable. The family seems wonderful. Just be happy for them.
What in my comment made you think I'm not happy for them? Also Jackson is a HELLA popular name in the south TODAY. Thanks for the etymology lesson, but it has absolutely no bearing on my comment.

everyone is confused because it seems like the parents kept alot of info to themselves so no one knew what was exactly going on. strange to me. i would have the whole family involved once i knew it was a done deal. they had the baby home for awhile it seems before they even told their parents? grandparents? odd.
Oh believe me we wanted to! However it's a matter of respect and privacy for the birth mother. This all happened in a matter of 5 days. We found out about the baby on a Sunday and brought him home on Thursday. Christmas also fell among those 5 days. We weren't sure it was going to happen 100% and knowing it was going to be quick we decided to keep it a secret. Then the reason for waiting 7 days to tell extended family is because the birth mom has 7 days to change her mind and parent. We wanted to respect her privacy and the baby's privacy until we knew for sure he was legally ours. He wasn't ours to share with the world until those 7 days were up. But believe me it was so hard!
@JoAnn Emery its 'lambaste' & i wasnt castigating anyone, i was pondering & asking questions, if you noticed the question marks. you could have educated me without the yelling & irrational anger.
Our nephew that lives next door had the exact name. So we discussed with his birth mom and decided to use the middle name she gave him as his first name and then gave him a family name from our side as his middle name. She was fine with it. Had it not been a special situation like that we would have kept his birth name.
Luigi Provencher Being on the other side of adoption in two ways I hope you will understand how important it is that "them" are allowed to help with the names. I myself am adopted and feel a deep connection to my birth family because of my name. My granddaughter was adopted by a wonderful couple and they kept the name we gave her. She is the 10th generation in a row of girls with the name Marie. It is a connection to both sides and it is important.

I didn't think they could get more southern and then they named the kid Jackson.

Why would you change his name?

Had it not been a special situation like that we would have kept his birth name.
Alright! I'm surprised that they even let them name the children that they're giving up.
She is still very much a part of his life. We love her dearly and are so thankful he has a name she gave him to carry for his whole life!
