3) Snoring: Upper airway resistance syndrome.

I'm a woman age 43 when diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. 122 episodes per Hour. (Two times a minute!) My study was done at a sleep center, by professionals.
I was 140 lbs. When diagnosed. Overweight, but not obese.
Very loud snoring.
Serious fatigue that affected my ability to be the best parent I wanted to be. I was sleepy all the time.
So... it isn't only older overweight men.
My dentist said I wasn't a candidate for dental appliance.
I used a cpap and, though I HATE it, it did fix my sleepiness and I was able to be clear headed and have energy again.
Now I have very bad periodontal disease and I wonder if all these years of air flowing through my mouth all night is causing my gums to be dry and pull back from my teeth.
My dentist doesn't know.
Airflow should be through the nose at night, you should try using mouthtape along with a cpap. Somnifix mouth strips is the best option and second best is 3M micropore tape from your local pharmacy. Hope this helps.
