Was any consideration given to using Hemp-crete ? Just asking , as it is a totally renewable and carbon zero type of super natural insulator . The Brits and Danes , and a whole pile of others use it with some amazing results .I also wonder about the off gassing of the foam insulation . More questions than answers ..but keeping open mind .

What is the cost differential between building a regular home versus a passive home?

While I applaud the technology this is the case again where building designs are out of reach for the masses due to the costs associated. I couldn't even guess what this costs including the property where an overpriced market has been the norm for the last few years, We have to figure out a way to get people into affordable super efficient housing at a cost that won't keep them in chains for years to come and really there's no rocket science involved with super insulation and south facing windows. Solar Survival Architecture has been doing this for years.

Nice ... Important ... I wish this would go viral The foundation aspect surprise mee I never thought even high density foam could take so much weight. wonder how long that will last thru the years and seasonal cycles

I wonder how this house would stand up to Saskatchewan’s weather I’ve seen -40c for two weeks straight In the middle of winter.

I am sure they are taking this into account. And I am sure it stands up just fine

I wish there were more detailed shots of the wall construction and foundation insulation.

what is the name of the product wrapped around the plumbing stack? it looks easier than using soft copper tubing.

it should be against the law to build an energy-wasting house.

Great video. Very well show cased. (Personally, I also dig all the Ampack airtight tape and Agepan sheathing that has been used. ;-) Thank you)
