People pretended to be butthurt because one triggered comedian decided it was offensive, I can guarantee that 99% of them taking offence at Apu aren't even Indian. I watched the show for years and it is CRAMMED with stereotypes - Germans, English people, Scottish people, I am Anglo-Celtic, I have a sense of humour, I love the absurd over the top (but very well-written, at its peak) stereotypes in the Simpsons
@@TheGreatGodPan And in The Simpsons the aim of the stereotypes is to poke fun but not to insult. I don’t recall any of the people being offended over Apu complaining even once about Family Guy and their stereotypes are designed to be blatantly offensive.
@@FluffyNebula Family Guy is just tryhard "edgy" humour. The stereotypes in classic Simpsons are harmless fun, and almost everyone is ridiculed at some point. I also like how they make just strange and eccentric characters out of cartoonish stereotypes - Apu is just an odd person, same applies to Smithers when he wasn't simply "gay", but specifically "Burnsosexual" haha.
I have the feeling that Azaria based Apu's accent on Hrundi V. Bakshi, the character played by Peter Sellers in "The Party." They sound very similar. But hey, almost all the Indian characters speak more or less the same. Rajesh Koothrappali may be an exception ...
Apu was one of the most beloved characters on the show. Too bad Hank was browbeat by the woke crowd to stop doing that voice. What a humorless world we're becoming.
The problem is that it isn't even those minorities that are offended by it. It's literally people being offended by something that other races or cultures could find offensive. I'm not saying that people shouldn't be offended, because there are legitimate reasons to get offended however I just feel like people like getting offended so they can feel like they're doing some good in the world.

Omg this guys my idol! I Love doing voice impressions and I can do almost all of what hank does! I have a wide variety of voices like hank. I wish I can be givin' a chance at my dream job..
There is a Moes Tavern in Universal Studios Park set up just like the series. I always thought Hank should stop by there, go behind the bar and play Moe

Mao Sama Yup, that was him! He also does voices for 'The Simpsons"; he's the voice actor for Carl, Chief Wiggum, Comic Book Guy ("Worst RUclips comment ever") Apu, and Moe. Very talented guy. And the eyes...;-)
I've always been a a fan of Hank Azaria, Larry if you have you ever have him on your show again please tell him that he inspires me. he was also good in Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian as Kahmunrah
His Apu voice is pretty accurate to the point where it isn’t offensive, in fact Moe and Apu are hard working immigrants which is what you’ll find in Queens.
I like this Man, I'd like to hear more him, But when he does the voices its just weird like not in a bad way but it sounds like he is mouthing the words and someone is playing a tape in the background, its amazing how someone can change thier voice like that
so weird i watched godzilla the other day and i though this guy sounded like simpsons voice. low and behold this ended up in my recommendations. spooky
He can have the most amazing conversations with himself
I want to lock him and Seth MacFarlane in a windowless room with cameras for like, 3 hours
+Requ1escat1nPACE and another ' Simpson Movie ' ..no fucking chance ! Total flop if it comes out !
Damn. Why are people on the internet always so negative??
@@RussellGreerOfficial because they are losers unhappy with their lives.
As an American-born Indian, I want Apu back for this reason. Thank you for the accurate jokes and laughs over the years, Mr. Azaria. 🍻

Liberals hate Apu because he’s pro-Gun and loves America.
Sorry to hear of the passing of your father, Hank. For what it's worth, your work makes the world a better place for a lot of people.

Can't believe I didn't recognize his voices! I always known him as DAVID from FRIENDS
He was so funny as the butler in 'the birdcage'
Aggadore - so funny. "She works hard for the money"
Aggadore Spartacus 😂
He should've been nominated for an Oscar for that performance.
Watched him on Friends many times and never knew he was a voice actor! Wow

Apu is a great character
If I could do this I would literally become Moe Szyslak. Like, I would have long time friends who didn't know that I didn't really sound like that.
It is impossible to talk to an actor from The Simpsons without asking them to do voices.
His face lit up when Larry said the phrase his daddy always said
He is amazing in 'The Birdcage'😂😂
Hugh jazz!! Can someone check the men's room for a Hugh jazz!!!!
Victor “Animal” Pallotti! He was great in Godzilla ‘98.
