  • SWISS is seen as the best airline of the Lufthansa Group. But does that really mean they are good? To be honest, on this flight it wasn't. This is due to a lot of cost-cutting. For example only providing one meal service on a 10 hour flight is surely not enough. But I also want to point out that the crew did a very good job by always being kind and helpful.

Swiss is clearly better than your reviews. You have clearly no idea about cross Atlantic flights. This was more food than on almost any other carrier, and the quality is surely better than most other caterers...

Wellll, an interesting video, but you should include some more information: about arrival time (did it shave off any of delay or did it actually increase?), did you catch your non-connecting flight? And I'm also curious why did it take a very southern route (over Spain)? Normally the flights from Europe to North America take the route over New Foundland and down along the east coast or slightly more to the south, but not that much (unless leaving from Madrid or Lisboa).

Hufff 777 , I always try to get isle seat or window seat , unless you travel in group, yeah meal service , that’s why I always avoid European carriers if there is another choice , meal with snack ideally for 7 hours flight , above that two meals will be the basic. Some airlines usually provide snacks on the counter in back galley , usually I walk there to get something to munch
Drink service should be offered frequently, after meal crew usually walking around to offer some drinks
I buy or bring water to have it during taxi or take off when service not available
    Nice trip report good luck

    I guess I am confused.
There are very few airlines that operate across the North Atlantic that offer two full meals in Y class.
From what I can see, you had a seat, a really good (well presented for sure) first service. The second service was not impressive. However it is any less impressive than anyone else flying across the NAT.
So my question, what aspect of this service is any less competitive than anyone else?
One can argue that airlines should do more, but unless someone actually goes there, nobody will. Nobody should blame Swiss for staying competitive.

He is comparing to other airlines (air france, emirates, turkish) which all offer a second meal on 10 Hours flight which is a standard thing to do

@@thomassalvadorp9302Air France does not and I don’t think any other European carrier competing with SWISS on this route offers a second full hot meal service.

@@kayciwittl No, they don't. I flew AF, KLM, Condor, Iberia, Air Europa and a few more and it's always he same: a full meal and a snack before landing.
