  • The Slight Edge is one of the books that doesn't just give you simple tip or trick to be successful, but rather a philosophy that will change how you think and how you make every day decisions. After I listened to the slight edge audiobook it suddenly clicked why I was thriving in some areas of my life and just stagnated in others. I want to recommend to everyone who wants to develop to listen to the slight edge audiobook it is extremely enlightening. The slight edge summary I made is just 4 minutes long and it just highlights the main idea, but the slight edge summary is not enough, I highly recommend that you go and listen to the slight edge audiobook.

Pick that water instead of the soda, the bananas instead of the cookies, the stairs instead of the elevator, read a book instead of mindlessly checking Facebook. And don't get me wrong, It's totally okay to make the wrong choice sometimes. Some days I don't feel like reading and want to check my phone before bed, we are human after all - but TRY to make the right decisions as much as possible!
Remember a year from now you will be the result of your choices!

I was actually thinking about something similar to this earlier, I was thinking how being successful is really being above average, and to be above average all you have to do is more than your peers.

Great video. It reminds me of the Compound Effect by Darren Hardy.

+Positively Brainwashed Exactly. Darren Hardy's book is based on the Slight Edge. Both books highlight such a great concept of looking at things.

Really like your videos, just a small suggestion: I'm no sound engineer but I think your 'S' sound too much and are a bit anoyying, not sure if it's the mic or you can just fix it on the editor ;o

+Hyroko Thanks for pointing that out, really love this kind of criticism. I am using a cheap 5$ microphone maybe that's the issue. I'll try to implement de-essing in the next video :)

The philosphy of this book is true for me. But it was so funny to read. He just repeated few principles for like 200 pages long. Actually, the key ideas can be written down in couple paragraphs

this one goes a little over the top. Of course writing 10 pages before bed might improve your writing and other fields more than not doing it, but it won't make 4 or 5 good books. it also won't make you a successful writer. it will most likely be shit books if you just write 10 new pages each day without planning any story or keeping track of what's going on in the book.
You're saying you are where you are 100% because of your decisions, and that ones just bullshit. In a life, enough things can happen to you, and you can't change them. Of course you can pick yourself up and try to get to a better position in life. But tell that to a homeless person. some just get dealt bad cards.
I thought this channel was Project Better Self, as in trying to improve yourself, for the sake of improving yourself. Not Become Rich 101 with this simple easy trick.
In my eyes, life is about happiness and feeling completed in doing what you are doing, not about being on top of a society just to look down.

+ad'gado Thanks for the comment. I think you got the example wrong. It was READING Self Development books not writing one :). I am not talking about the things that you can't change like being born in underdeveloped country without water or Internet, of course that is not your fault. But use your common sense, if you eat sugar and and cakes all day instead of healthy foods a year from now don't wonder why you are overweight, or if you play video games instead of sharpening your skills, don't blame other people for making their dreams come true (of course maybe playing video games is your dream, and that is totally fine! ). And most important of all the Slight Edge is nowhere near a Simple Easy Trick. Its about how you look at little things you do, you may not think that drinking water instead of Soda will make any difference, or that learning how to code instead of Facebook for 10-15 minutes a day will make ANY change in your life. But when you compound that decision over the next year or two you will definitely see the difference! Its a good book, I recommend you give it a shot.

Project Better Self That's definitely worth thinking about for a good while and implementing into your life. goes hand in hand with how to break and create habits if you ask me.
personally I drink a lot more water, especially after a joint :D
