To everyone who is talking crap about bollywood, there are really good movies happening in bollywood which are really underappreciated and not promoted due to the immense hype created for usual masala, love triangle shit which is happening in bollywood and surprisingly raking in big numbers.
The reason why mollywood is able to create fresh content is due to the limited budget in the industry, due to this the makers can be more creative and the producers' risk also decreases. I feel every industry has it's own gem and it's time for everyone to change their viewing standards and start promoting such movies.

The girl is 12th grade dropout and has the least interaction with someone outside her village. She might have felt creeped out at the beginning then thought that she could handle situation on herown but unknowingly she began to fall for the person. It's the relatability that makes the movies made in malayam special. The characters are people you come across in daily life. Meanwhile Bollywood offers movies that show rich people and their problems. Not relatable at all. There are movies like Kai Po Che , and all ayushman's movie that actually deals with real issues. @@KumarB819 the movies you've mentioned are not crappy, they're actually good "mass" movies. Not every movie could be kappela or chappa kurishu. Just like how parallel cinema will always be there, mass movies which are at the other extreme end will also be there and they should be as there are huge viewership to them. What I meant is that unlike in bollywood where all movies of Bhai or Race and housefull series is a success here we have sensibility to reject crappy movies whether they are mass movies or family movies.

Bollywood is trying to copy Hollywood and lost its prime and identity..Most of the bollywood movie is now shooting in foreign countries..and now very few movies depict the common man's life...In the budget of a bollywood movie atleast 5 kappela can be made... Audience need good story rather than the crap now what the soo called bollywood is showing.

It’s hard to dub them because the emotions, bgm, voices, songs rarely translate well and then final product becomes a mediocrity instead. Check out good movies like “Ustad Hotel” and “Om Shanti Oshana “ and see their Hindi
      dubbed version.

2)Anuraga Karikkin Vellam - Asif, Rejisha (Couples can easily relate to this story, the usual everyday fights n stuff like that)
3)Mayanadhi - Tovino, Aishu (Mathan, who works for a gang accidentally kills a police officer and is on the run, but he decides to meet his long lost love Aparna before leaving, which eventually puts his life in danger)
4)Luca - Tovino, Ahana (Beautiful love story of 2 free souls. The guy and the girl dies and that’s how the movie starts. The reason for death is eventually found out from the girl’s diary)
5)Ennu ninte moideen - Prithviraj, Parvathy (Real life story of Kanchana, who unfortunately couldn’t marry Moideen, cuz of Moideen’s death and how she lived the rest of her life single. Ps : Kanchana is still alive)
6)Ishq - Shane Nigam (How a young couple are physically and mentally harassed while seen together at night in a car and how the situation puts their love to the test)

Wow, another masterpiece from the land of Kerala. Seriously, Kerala seems to be all over the world now fortunately for all good, like the State Govt and Health Department tackling Corona so well where the world failed and then the films. Oh, nothing else to say but to wonder What are Malayalees eating to have such brains and creative art. Hope rest of country atleast appreciate Malayalam movies by seeing such good films and learn the art of cinema because rest of the country has always neglected the small southern state while world over recognizes it. Thanks for your reviews on every detail. Atleast hope people goes thro' your review and learn what is the different aspects of cinema and improve upon to mature as an audience to watch gems from all over the country. Apart from gems from South, Indian audiences are really lucky to get to see great gems from Marathi, Bengali, Assamese film industry also.

I don't understand why some people, so called feminists are hating on this film just because Jessie was weak and didn't stand up for herself. Yes I agree Annie's advice at the end was bullshit! But other than that, the movie was really good. Let's just accept that such incidents do and can happen to some people.
Edit: When I said she's weak, I didn't really mean it in a bad way. Everyone knows incidents shown in the movie do and can occur in real life as well and there are a lot of girls like Jessie who probably can relate to her character.

I love Malayalam movie... but I do feel very strongly while growing up that female characters were very limited... even when they’ve trying to show natural n real stuff they did explore n broke norms for men but for women they have always missed the mark
I don’t particularly know about this movie but in general they mess it up
Even in movies where women play powerful roles like ias officers poultice officers they r stainless so disgustingly that I have had hard time to watch
Malayalam movies r fabulous I hope they work on this too or may be we need ton of women directors n writers from across the world to start the change

This movie was inspired from incidents in real life of people that the director knew... Just like drishyam, not all can report in reality to police because of the nature of our media on how it publicises such events for TRP driving a family to live in shame... Harsh reality after some incidents. In not as easily shown in politically correct movies, which is why I like this movie... She should be more bold and learn martial arts, which is necessary

You can see a video by mallu analyst about this movie. This movie is promoting stalking, sadhachara policing etc. Instead of following her till the end, Roy should have informed Jessie about Vishnu. Instead he chose stalking as a way.
