Both of my PA12'S were great kayaks, my first was a used 2014, I bought in 2015. Lasted me up until I got 2021 360. It was still in amazing condition. I sold it for little more that I originally paid. They had already fixed the bearings way before I got mine. I don't think I've seen anything updated sense the original 2020 360 release except the price. But everything is more exspensive these days... Still one of, if not the best fishing kayak on market. I just recently added my first set of electronics to mine after kayak fishing for long time!. My amped outdoors 32ah 14.8v battery less 4 lbs & runs a 10" Garmin, steady cast heading sensor, lvs34 system for 12+ hours & still has juice to keep going! I don't run a trolling motor, I don't need one I can pedal that thing all day with ease. It will kick your ass when you first get one but after you build up muscle & stamina ist easier than walking.
I have the first gen 360 drive and never had a problem. Knock on wood. The 360 drive is a game changer for me. I have no regrets. Being able to turn on a dime is awesome for the way I fish and crab.
So the only thing they changed is the sealing of the ball bearings in the peddle drive? So basically it's still the same yak. And it's marked up 1k more when I bought mine.
The Hobie Mirage just gets better and better. The only thing that puts me off is the price! Particularly as the Aussie dollar is only 0.67 cents of a US dollar. So almost $10k!
The most important drive tips… when in shallow water keep the pedals all the way forward and backward with tiny little two to three inch strokes. When shifting forward or reverse do it when both pedals are in the middle and slowly no jerking the chords. I avoided the 360 as so many failure complaints. The boat pedals should come with replacement straps($5 straps too much with $1800 drive?) USE A TETHER TO THE BOAT unless you don’t mind losing half the boats value to the bottom of the river.
One question. If you do decide to just paddle, I did not see a rear rudder that turns. Would that 360 peddle unit be used to steer if your paddling? Seems like you need a rear rudder
I'm saving up for one, I'm hoping I can make enough money on the side to buy it by or before the end of July. I'm trying to get it for a trip. I'm going to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore and to fish. I'd love to bring this with me. I was just going to buy a cheaper kayak, then I found out about hobies and thought I'd get an outback or compass, but I just know if I don't go with the biggest and the best I'll regret it and think, I coulda just saved a little more and gotten this
The "sail" attachment point is for general attachments. Hobie has a lot of overpriced crap that plugs in there, like bimini etc. (If you want a sail boat, just get the island. You're already getting up near its price point with the PA anyways) As for the claim @9:11 about the drive problems being "addressed" is false. Both belt and drive failures with the 360 are still a common issue. This guy might not admit to it during his little sales pitch, but i betcha the kids he has working repairs for his dealership are getting them in constantly.
I tell y’all that the twin troller X10 awesome they can go in 2 inches of water or 1 inch check them out the come with two trolling motors 45 lbs thrust
I’m getting this one . I have autopilot . I prefer hobie with more powerful 55 pound thrust on the bow plus the pedal drive . I miss having pedal drive . Plus for salmon trolling I get way more bites on hobie passport I have them autopilot - because the legs are more sporadic bouncy not perfect - so triggers bites more - proven for 2 seasons now …so ideal is to have both
Autopilot is great . But once I get hobie - it will have everything . The problem is that 55 pound thrust xi3 for 1500 plus kayak plus installation and tax a it’s 7500. Plus mounts for it and so on . There you have a 9 grand fully decked out hobie pro angler . That’s crazy money
Morning comes in . You and your friend peddling and actually doing something so keeps you going .. hot coffee .. then you get to a spot and spot lock .. it’s just great to have both systems - often here it’s so cold , I rather pedal then just sit all wrapped up in jackets while the motor is running .
For what they charge for a kayak that should be a lifetime warranty on all. Way too many Hobie 360 that were shipped out failed. Cracking in the hull. Drives failing. Body warps over time. Dealers have tried to do everything possible to make it right in the end Hobie refused to replace them. I wanted one for some time. But after seeing so many friends kayaks fail with these defects. I’m sorry I can’t.
I own 3 and love them but….. let’s address what sucks! They are heavy, period. The rudder handles loosen and you usually discover that when you get there and the wind blows them off…somewhere! They provide little to nothing for securing the boat to what you haul it with. The six pole holders are not worth a crap as the reels are crowded in your seat side areas… realistically there should only be two extras. The drives are awesome but every few trip you need to make sure nothing is coming unscrewed and they should definitely come with a booklet on useful tips…to many for here. The fold out tackle hatch is ok but one of mine has a storage hatch instead and is way better
@@charliegodinez9655 naw. they dont do anything for me. you would really need a motor for the blu sky 360. by then you might as well get a solo skiff. and also with either the solo skiff or blu sky 360 now your not in the kayak category anymore.
Hobie is going to kill them self because they keep raising their prices come on hobie make a better kayak for $5000 you can buy a used aluminum boat and has a defender and 15 hp motor ready to fish $5000- $6000 bass tractor

Only thing Hobie changes every year is their prices. 👎🏽
Ur right they are why to hi on their price it should be be $3500 that’s it
Isnt just Hobie that changed the prices. Everything in the world has increased…
Jackson is way more accessible to the average Joe schmo fisherman
Same with old town. My $2,200 kayak has gone up $250 annually since I bought it
@@raymondjohnson6496 A jackson Coosa FD costs 3,500. An old town 120 PDL is 3,000. You think this boat is in the same league as either of those?

Aliex dropping the weight! You look great brotha!
thanks bro, it is hard to it off
Will the new 2023 360 drive fit in the 2020 pa, or did you change the way it fits? That way I won't have to buy a whole new boat.
Wonder if the 360 drive unit would fit into the older straight drives ? Can you buy it separate
It can't

you got both the normal rear rudder and the 360, you can turn with both or one or the other, you can go 360 degrees basically

I'll stick with the pa12 180. Less moving parts, less problem. I'm not out there to do doughnuts, I'm out there to fish. Plus cheaper. My .02

I need to correct David on one thing. If I catch a decent size fish, my Native Titan 12 will go sideways. Hahaha 😂
isnt that the best part of kayak fishing? fish pulling you places?
I can make tight figure 8s on my $400 Tamarack pro....with a fish on lol
Did I hear this correctly amigo? $5700? I'm glad I got the Stroke Fisher 14 a few months ago instead for half the price of this PA14.
Awesome! Did you learn about the stroke from my video?
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Awesome stuff dude
Es muy estable liviana para que sea más fácil su trasladoMuy cómoda para disfrutar de la pesca
Sold mine and got a real Bass Boat. NO REGRETS.
with the cost of the Hobie 360 you can afford 3 bass boats lol

it is a lot of money to be worry about it for sure, what i can tell you is that hobie is very good at replacing boats, even in weird cases
Saw a 2022 12 foot Hobie PA
180 at a Scheels for $3200. Or about a $1000 off
Nice
damn that thing could go out and fish in the deep ocean for pelagics
heck yeah but ill add a motor lol
Almost 6K? Might as well buy a yacht 😅😅😅
That’s what you need. PA14.
i dont see how i can make the investment back
@@AliexFolgueira sometimes it’s just for fun. Ha
Cool yak
Priming that hobie live well is a real pain. As someone who bought the big one I DO NOT RECOMMEND
it can be tricky
Aliex That's a good look for you, have lost some weight
Thanks for noticing! Lots of mental power to get here

7.500 €? I buy a boat! Better Triken 330
Hobie has gotten way out of hand
$5799 and you still have to work
i would buy another hobie any day over a boat. less maintenance and easier to store.
