G36 is my go-to plane in MSFS. So much fun to fly. I almost have the wife convinced to let me buy one IRL for flights to visit family down in Florida. We got to see one up close down at Sun & Fun last month. It was so much nicer than the beat up 172 she was used to me getting my lessons in.
No limitations (in the US) taking off and flying in any weather so long as they are equipped per the regs (IFR flight is 91.205). Pilots need an instrument rating, currency, and an IFR clearance to fly in IMC. Smart and legal are two different things.
Fair enough!! Thank you for the information!!
Real world instrument pilot here regarding cloud limitation‘s there’s no limitation on flying in clouds as far as the aircraft is concerned. Legally you’re not supposed to be in clouds unless you are operating under an IFR flight plan. If the aircraft is not approved for FIKI in other words flying inKnown icing then you would be very worried about flying into a cloud if the temperature was below freezing
It is definitely not ideal conditions if avoidable. It would be one heck of a ride in this bird for sure. LOL
Your problem was you failed to activate approach mode and also the active Nav frequency is the one on the right in green, the one with the box around it is the standby frequency. Also from the top of my head, if you'd had entered your runway as well your destination in the flight plan the localizer frequency would have automatically been selected.
Try the Bonanza H35 V-tail. It has steam gauges and flies really nice. I use the TDS GNXi stand alone with it. Awesome.
Whats the difference between the tds and pms50? Ik that tds doesnt have navigraph intergration but how is it better in terms of features compared to the pms
Actually flying instruments in a non-motion simulator is easier in that IRL instrument flying you must ignore what you are feeling and control the aircraft by reference to instruments only.
Thanks for the video. Will install right after this video. If you don't have automixture activated in settings, the mixture needs to be decreased to bring map and rpm into optimum power range.
finest VFR weather 👍
Glad to see this mod got a patch for SU9. Looking forward to re-integrating it.
Love your videos - thanks for featuring the G36 again!! @CaptMatto
Steam Gauges with a GTN750xi or 650 would be awesome.
Agree...🤔 Maybe I'm an old style person but that's how I learned to fly 45 years ago before retiring. It's nice have all that info but it's too much sometimes.
My favorite plane in the sim
Facing raining weather like that I'd switch the Pitot heat just in case...and don't forget to adjust the mxture.
I love the G-36 but don't you find the buttons on the Garmins really fuzzy?
Love the G36! Have you tried the Turbo mod for this plane? Speed and power all through the climb.
Where do you get that mod at? Is it also available in the marketplace or?
Thanks for any info
What is the Vr, Vx, Vy and approach and landing speeds with the mod?
My sim in completely messed up now after World Update 9. I'm on my second reinstall. Every time I open the sim I get a strange loading screen and then it starts acting like I have never set up the sim before. Also won't save any configuration changes and the resolution is set to 2K for my screen but it doesn't look like it.
Sped Vr, Vx, Vy and approach and landing speeds would be appreciated.
How do you move camera like this?
Taking off from an uncontrolled airport and staying in uncontrolled airspace you need one mile visibility and remain clear of clouds. With mountains around in the weather you have that would not be very safe. Why climb at 16" pf manifold pressure? Use your checklist
Quick comment about the weather and typical regulations.
As long as the Aircraft was setup like it is in the sim and was Rated IFR as well as you being rated IFR. Then it would be ok although in real life you would strictly want to avoid this if you can. But the Airport would be in IFR only with the weather as it was. The sim actually simulates this if you use the in-game ATC.
Wellll it seems The G36 Mod is safe I shall have a go at it then.
IFR flight and I guess playing in sim world rules don’t apply. Just don’t do it in real world.
