Hello Doc , I had unprotected sex around 9th and 10th but i took plan b on 11th 2:00 AM and it was my ovulation date , on 12 th I had sex again and the next day I took plan B again ! After 7 days of ovulation (18th Jan) I experienced Light brown bleeding with mild cramps and backpain ! It took 3 days and it stopped! i expected my period to start on 25th Jan but it's 8 days late now ! I took a pregnancy test on 21st and it was negative . My girlfriend took a plan b about 15-30 minutes after intercouse. This occurred about 3 days before her period was supposed to come. It's now been 3 days since that due date & her period still hasn't came so should we be worried?

Will it work if I had delayed periods for 5 months
I took 2 plan B one steps on a Monday. That same week on Wednesday I had my LH surge. Does this mean the medication did not work? Or could it have prevented ovulation even with an LH surge? Can’t find the answer anywhere
Hi, according to research, plan B will not work to delay ovulation after the LH surge.

So I took a plan b 13 days ago and my period is due in 6 days. I have had 0 bleeding except tonight I had brown/ tan spotting when I wiped accompanied with some cramping, Is this a beginning of a new period or could it be implantation spotting?
Either is possible and I do recommend doing a PT 2-3 w after sex. You could argue it's a bit early for implantation, but what if there was sex before?
The pill can make your periods arrive earlier, later or at the same time.
The spotting or bleeding can look similar. So a PT clears up any confusion.

I would like to ask, I took morning after pill (Trust, yuzpe method) within 24 hrs after an unprotected intercourse. 10 days later, I started to see a sticky mucus with reddish to brownish vaginal discharge every time I wiped mine with a tissue. It has continued for almost 4 days now, and I'm having a panic attack. I'm having pregnancy scare and it's killing me. What can you say? Please help me
Hi, please try not to panic - it may be an early period depending on when in your cycle that you took the pill.
The best thing will be to do the pregnancy test - wait at least 2 weeks from when you had sex.

My period is usually on time. October 1-7 was my period. I took plan B on the 14th. My period came about a week early. Oct 20th-27th. I had sex 11/1. It’s 11/19 with no period. Am I not going to have a period this month? I’m having symptoms of pms/pregnancy but my test is negative.
Did you take plan B again after Nov 1?
Plan b taken in Oct can affect November period whether or not you are using other BC methods.
We can't say when the period will arrive, keep track of your symptoms and repeat the PT after 1 week.

Hi, I ovulated a day or two before taking plan B. I started a very light pinkish spotting 7 or 8 days later it was only once in the morning when I wiped. Then it skipped a day and I noticed it again in the morning when I wiped. It skipped another day and I noticed it again that morning and then again that night with it being slightly heavier when I wiped. I thought my period was going to come the next day but it stopped again completely. So I took a pregnancy test but it was negative. Is this normal from taking plan b? I am currently 13/14 DPO.

After 10 days of taking the pill, on February 1, I started to observe reddish to brownish discharge that I can only see if I wiped mine with a tissue, and that continues until now on and off. @@jmal7137 Hey! It’s normal for that to happen. The pill did mess my cycle up up to 3 months. I even got a faint positive but was not pregnant. I would say relax and just wait it out I know how hard that could be but just trust me lol

Hi, sorry this is stressing you out - ladies can react quite differently to the pill it can be quite frustrating!
I'd recommend, though to see your Dr and check there are no other causes before concluding its a pill effect.
Once thats done, and the pill seems the likely cause, the bleeding will settle down - but we generally can't say 'when' as it differs from one woman to another, bleeding for more than 2-3 weeks can sometimes happen.

My period ended on the 17 of December I had sex on the 18 and took early morning pills on the 19 .and all of a sudden I started bleeding on the 25 of December am so scared please is something wrong with me I need urgent reply.

We were freaked out still but she had her period after 28 days on September 23rd, so the pill delayed her period by 7 days cause she used to have a 21 day cycle . we were expecting her cycle to go back to normal after that , but now she’s again 5 days late ,

Yes some ladies don't and their period's arrive around or at the expected time. Doesn't mean the pill didn't work (or that it did).
Hii with all due respect i m saying that my partner took the Ecp tablet on the basis of doubt as we were not sure about the unprotectedness of sex .. so how would the tablet react?? Kindly answer that..

Hi, yes this can sometimes happen but its not common. If you've done a pregnancy test and have no other symptoms, you can wait to see if your cycle returns by the next month and see your Dr if it hasn't.

You were already in the fertile window, and taking the pill was appropriate.
However, there's a small window of possible pregnancy:
1, the pill is not 100%
2, having sex again after the pill means some sperm can still be around after the temporary hold on ovulation caused by the pill is lifted.

Hi Abbey, I understand your anxiety.
However while some pregnant women do get a metallic taste in the mouth, it doesn't always mean pregnancy.
I'd recommend repeating your test after a week if your period is still delayed.
You may discuss with your doctor about a pelvic scan if you persist in having symptoms, but a serum pregnancy test is pretty reliable.

I recently took a plan b pill on April 19 and hour or half an hour after the intercourse, and it wasn’t until the next day that I noticed on the 20th was day one of my fertile window (that same day) and my ovulation day was on the 25th. I’ve been worried because obviously I don’t know if the pill has worked. Yesterday April 27th I started spotting brown discharge but not enough to fill a pad or a liner. I’m confused if this is spotting after the pill has worked or implantation bleeding. I feel like I’m going insane.
Also my next period should be on May 9th.

Hi yes it’s possible the pill effect can continue the next month after taking it, but if you have had unprotected sex in the last month you should take a pregnancy test.

Well, it can happen as a pill effect if its a small amount for a short period.
Otherwise, there could be other causes.

@LDR Native but in my case, after 10 days of taking the pill, there's a reddish discharge at first and then change to brown after. It's been 4 days now but I can only see it when I wiped the hole (you know 😂) with a tissue.
