Honestly, these are the types of players that nobody else in Platinum ever wants to play with. They focus all their time on mechanics and none of their time on positioning or rotation and then are just chasing the entire game driving their teammates mad.
Props to chrisanter for backing up his claim. The shots are still rough sometimes, but the others looked more like the typical plats who hit some shots in training packs and claim they could pull it off any time.

the one shot you'd most likely get though even without training fany mechs is the double tap from a kick-off position. from memory from starting out, on a straight kickoff, boosting right into the ball without jumping, while consuming 33+2x12 boost I guess, perfectly puts the ball above the goal :p

It really is just a way of dissing your gamesense and saying you’re dumb. Good mechanics plus good gamesense means you’ll rank up. I got zero mechanics and I’m champ… I just focus on tryhard shit like making really good saves, strong 50’s and fast recoveries.

Its crazy how I probably wouldn't score many points on this but am consistently in high D, C1 area...probably a ball chase or rotation issue with them staying in plat. Crazy how positioning will almost always out trump decent mechanics.
Im high diamond and the only thing i could even remotely do is the dribble and maybe double tap. Understanding how to read the ball is another thing that makes a big difference in getting a shot or a missed opportunity
I have to say that I felt stuck in plat, but the reason why I didn't get out of it was because of my mentality and also not having fun. As soon as I started watching Woody and Sledge videos, the game went from OK to amazing. Mechanics isn't everything.
Cause airdribbles are basically useless unless you're REALLY good at them and have very good recoveries. I never go for them cause there's too many instances where I go for it and my teammate thinks this is a pass and we double commit and get scored on.

Practice ground dribbles and power shots. Also gamesense obviously and adaptability. Stop blaming teammates and try to feel how they play and anticipate their decisions.

And a double tap is when both touches are in the air. People come into the rocket league subreddit quite often claiming they hit a double tap when they actually hit a backboard read and they are always corrected.

I was impressed by them actually. Some of them had better mechanics than me and I am diamond 3. Must be a rotation problem for them. Or a 50 problem or a shooting problem. I tend to win games because I am decent at 50ing and can hit the net. When either of those are off for me I can't win anything haha.
Chrisanater and Python had insane mechanics for plat, MrAmazing still had well above average mechanics for plat, but not the most mechanical And PF is just kinda a troll. NOt trying to be toxic but his mechanics weren't good. Basically what you'd expect with a name like that.

I'm d3-c1 and I just triued this challenge. I would have gotten 2 points, but only becauseof cheesing the double tap like they did in the vid. On everything else I probably would have looked the worst out of everyone,
I hate to be this guy. But I have to, it’s 2023…. As a mig GC comp main who also coaches mechs…everyone can take this with a grain of salt. If you’re gold, you don’t have good mechanics. If you’re plat, you don’t have good mechanics, if you’re diamond, you don’t have good mechs, if you’re champ, you DONT HAVE MECHS. Etc…etc. I don’t understand how/why this game has been out for THIS long and people still flex “their mechs” and to get some kind of BS fed to them that says “oh wow. You should definitely be a higher rank” Just because you can sometimes hit a scuffed advanced mechanic in training does not mean you can do said mechanic. And if you actually can hit said shot, CORRECTLY AND CONSISTENTLY then you wouldn’t be in the lower 50% of the population and you wouldn’t be asking “I can hit BLANK and I’m BLANK RANK, is that good” 😒 I’ve coached SOO many plats and diamonds that start off their journey with me with “I can hit BLANK, BLANK, BLANK but I’m (insert random low rank)” And my response is always…. “That comment is why you are stuck in the low rank you are” It just blows my mind. Not the fact that people are going through the journey (we ALL go though the journey of learning mechs) But the Dunner Kruger effect is in full swing with the low/mid rank players. From gold all the way to champ. Y’all think you’re Gods at the game because of some high level mechanic you can barely hit consistently and when you do finally hit it, the defense for that rank is equally as bad, so it rolls in anyways. Don’t worry guys. You’ll EVENTUALLY make it to gc and get humbled very fast and realize how bad you actually are at EVERYTHING. And then you can finally start to become better.
lmao, I get what you're saying, but you def can have good mechanics in dia/champ. I for one am champ 2 and can hit a lot of my freestyle shots pretty consistently in competitive. Not saying I do deserve a better rank though, I'm exactly where I expect myself to be. Also, there's more to rocket league than competitive so maybe that's why they practice mechanics more than competitive gamesense/mechs
As a gc, I admire mr amazing's confidence. You need to have faith in yourself to win in rl. At the end of the day, however, we get the rank we deserve.

I met a freestyler play in 1v1 who was also a play tournament winner. He was hitting musty flicks out of air dribbles and was also doing flip resets. He prob better than all these plats. (Still beat him tho because he could not play defense)
Chrisanter is obviously a smurf. When looking for smurfs you wanna look at little things not how clean or scuffed the entire shot was. Look how clean and fast he takes off of the wall during air dribbles his muscle memory just instantly got him there. Mad props if he isnt a smurf but I am very sceptical especially because I made plat acc myself recently to teach a friend and its literally full of smurfs. Real plats who whiffs and have bad position are very rare there. Its just good people throwing in there. Edit: Im a champ and I have huge troubles setting up and executing ceiling shots. Upon seeing how clean chrisanters setup was I would be willing to bet a lot of money that he is a smurf. Wish psyonix finally did something about this issue man...
I am pretty confident Chris is not a Smurf. Based on both his extensive rank history and youtube channel I believe he is just a kid who likes to practice mechanics and struggles to break the P3 barrier.

Diamond I edging DII both in 2v2 and 3v3. Things is... I don't have any mechanic, I try to be fast, rotate a little and basically I play in europe at 23:00 which means the good ones are in tournaments.

Get one plat from every region and do a tourney. I can play on us-wests servers and I’m in Oceania if that helps and u could even make it like Gamers8 and have each region be a team and have em 1v1 2v2 and 3v3

I’m an ssl and it’s been a hot minute since I’ve seen lower ranks so I wanted to see what it was like…. I can confirm. It’s this exact video 😅 given though he was such a hype man. As a mig GC comp main who also coaches mechs…everyone can take this with a grain of salt.
If you’re gold, you don’t have good mechanics. If you’re plat, you don’t have good mechanics, if you’re diamond, you don’t have good mechs, if you’re champ, you DONT HAVE MECHS. Etc…etc.
I don’t understand how/why this game has been out for THIS long and people still flex “their mechs” and to get some kind of BS fed to them that says “oh wow. You should definitely be a higher rank”
Just because you can sometimes hit a scuffed advanced mechanic in training does not mean you can do said mechanic. And if you actually can hit said shot, CORRECTLY AND CONSISTENTLY then you wouldn’t be in the lower 50% of the population and you wouldn’t be asking “I can hit BLANK and I’m BLANK RANK, is that good” 😒
I’ve coached SOO many plats and diamonds that start off their journey with me with “I can hit BLANK, BLANK, BLANK but I’m (insert random low rank)”
And my response is always….
“That comment is why you are stuck in the low rank you are”
It just blows my mind.
Not the fact that people are going through the journey (we ALL go though the journey of learning mechs)
But the Dunner Kruger effect is in full swing with the low/mid rank players.
From gold all the way to champ. Y’all think you’re Gods at the game because of some high level mechanic you can barely hit consistently and when you do finally hit it, the defense for that rank is equally as bad, so it rolls in anyways.
Don’t worry guys. You’ll EVENTUALLY make it to gc and get humbled very fast and realize how bad you actually are at EVERYTHING. And then you can finally start to become better.
lmao, I get what you're saying, but you def can have good mechanics in dia/champ. I for one am champ 2 and can hit a lot of my freestyle shots pretty consistently in competitive. Not saying I do deserve a better rank though, I'm exactly where I expect myself to be. Also, there's more to rocket league than competitive so maybe that's why they practice mechanics more than competitive gamesense/mechs
As a gc, I admire mr amazing's confidence. You need to have faith in yourself to win in rl. At the end of the day, however, we get the rank we deserve.

No, that's just the way spectate will often show it live. The plats most likely were in car cam.

the definition of a double touch is getting 2 touches while in the air and scoring so no point for that

@@cytro yes I worded that badly. I meant getting at least one touch before the ball hits the backboard and at least one touch after that, without your car touching the ground.
Every plat feels like thier the best and thinks they can do falshy tings but at the end of the day, they really cant, they balme on teamates and everything but they have terrible games sense and dont know what their doing, diamond will really humble them

nah bro these people aren't it. I'm Plat (hit diamond once and got rewards) and I can airdribble consistently and flip reset decently. My dribble game is definitely a strong point, my flicks are great. I hope I can get into a challenge that would be sick!

I met a freestyler play in 1v1 who was also a play tournament winner. He was hitting musty flicks out of air dribbles and was also doing flip resets. He prob better than all these plats. (Still beat him tho because he could not play defense)
I think it was chrisanater who seemed the most humble encouraging the other guys. I’d 1v1 him tho

Chrisanter is obviously a smurf. When looking for smurfs you wanna look at little things not how clean or scuffed the entire shot was. Look how clean and fast he takes off of the wall during air dribbles his muscle memory just instantly got him there. Mad props if he isnt a smurf but I am very sceptical especially because I made plat acc myself recently to teach a friend and its literally full of smurfs. Real plats who whiffs and have bad position are very rare there. Its just good people throwing in there.
Edit: Im a champ and I have huge troubles setting up and executing ceiling shots. Upon seeing how clean chrisanters setup was I would be willing to bet a lot of money that he is a smurf. Wish psyonix finally did something about this issue man...
I am pretty confident Chris is not a Smurf. Based on both his extensive rank history and youtube channel I believe he is just a kid who likes to practice mechanics and struggles to break the P3 barrier.

i did the same as i was around diamond (now champ over a year), learning all kinds of flicks, ceiling shots, stalling, double taps ect. dedicated player do such stuff when they are bored and wait for a friend to hop on or just like the satisfying feeling when something u wanna learn, works every once in a while until it becomes consistent.
also i play on switch so i only have 1 account lamo but i can see why you say this bc i AM TOO GOATED lol but ye there is a lot of smurfs in plat

Diamond I edging DII both in 2v2 and 3v3. Things is... I don't have any mechanic, I try to be fast, rotate a little and basically I play in europe at 23:00 which means the good ones are in tournaments.

Get one plat from every region and do a tourney. I can play on us-wests servers and I’m in Oceania if that helps and u could even make it like Gamers8 and have each region be a team and have em 1v1 2v2 and 3v3

So last month I went into striped discord channel and there was a plat that said he’s super mechy and looking for a partner. I’m an ssl and it’s been a hot minute since I’ve seen lower ranks so I wanted to see what it was like…. I can confirm. It’s this exact video 😅 given though he was such a hype man. Tryna tell me I could go pro but little does he know skill gap is more from low ssl to pro then it is gc1 to ssl 🤣💀
