Timber Tuff TMW-56 Lumber Cutting Guide

Today I tried out the cheapest product I could find on Amazon.ca for processing lumber at home. It worked quite well for making my initial face cut. Next, I will attempt to mill a beam from a deadfall tree using only this Timber Tuff Cutting guide. I would recommend this product to other home hobbyists.

You have it assembled wrong. the engine should be over the bracket

Which required him to hold the down guide with the hand that should have been on the saw. Not safe.

Another incorrect installation...turn the saw around so the motor is over the mill, that way your saw weight is better centered. Work smarter not harder 👍

I was interested in how you secured the saw vs the guide install…

As some have pointed out, the engine goes over the guide, something the worthless instructions fail to point out (although the photo on the front of them shows it assembled correctly).. On that note, does anyone know what the tapped holes in the sides of the guide frame are for? It comes with two additional setscrews that fit the tapped holes but no mention of their use in the "instructions"
The photo and drawing both show the setscrews in place, but there's nothing for them to bear against, now is there a jam nut to retain them, I see no way they could be used as an adjustment screw for the fence, or anything else. Am I missing the obvious?

I have one of these and the set screws can be used for minor adjustments when squaring the saw bar to the guide

I think your talking about the extra bolts to bolt the saw bar to the clamp instead of using the set screws you have to drill the bar to use them instead of the set screws
