The reason Mega did not sell well, partly because of its very high price compared to competitors like Xpeng X9, and partly because of how much its rear end resembles a traditional Chinese casket. What is even worse was that Li Auto published a photo of delivery ceremony, in which dozens of Megas lined up and were covered with black cloth. This just further emphasized the image of caskets in a funeral. As a chinese, once you are infused with such idea in your mind, you cannot unsee it. Basically nobody wants to put his whole family in a casket-like box, therefore the sales flopped

Not the first time Chinese lying about companies data..
I think that people are not buying the X-Peng X9 because of the fact that people who bought the first batch of G9s got fleeced. The second batch of G9s came out with a massive price drop, plus a few more features that the previous. X9 potential buyers are expecting the same result, and so, will wait for a year or so for the price to fall.

I don't think the company lied, the company just overshot with its projection. It is common in corporate world. If every company who miss their sales prediction can get sued, then there are a lot of companies out there can get sued too.

I like the van ok. It would make a good camper van. But the price would have to be nice, and I'd want to be able to mount roof racks.

I’m not anti EV but it looks like the EV industry is in a spot of bother and there will be a lot more of this with many of these Chinese EV makers. I think anybody considering buying a Chinese car, EV or ICE, should look elsewhere.

They lie about demand/sales, yet you take their word for the quality and details of the vehicle. You need to stop saying vehicles are phenomenal, great, the best etc when you have never seen, let alone driven them.
He has seen and driven BYD , MG , Chery , GWM .. so by extension , if those never before driven cars are selling in competitive numbers , then they must be good too .

He consistently claims vehicles are great, fantastic or phenomenal with no idea how they drive, their comfort level, the performance of their infotainment/computer interfaces etc.

Let’s be honest. Li Auto just came out with its first BEV this year (2024). Up to now they have only be making PHEVs which are ICE cars with a dildo sized battery and pollute 75% to 100% as much as an ICE vehicle, depending on if the battery is used.

@@deepseer Please understand that PHEVs in every country are trash. And they catch fire much more frequently than ICE & BEVs. Just 25 out of 100,000 EVs suffer fire damage. By comparison, 1530 per 100,000 ICE cars experience fire, and hybrid vehicles suffer a much higher risk of 3475 per 100,000.

Li automotive is a joke it’s not an EV company it’s an ice vehicle company with a tiny battery. Until they make an EV that sells I would never invest. I’d rather invest in Zeeker. Nio is the horse I’m betting on. Li auto is dead along with anything else that is not EV.
