Thank you New Balance for continuing to making shoes for people with big/wide feet! I have run in the previous 4 versions of the 1080 in 13 4E and they never disappoint except in the color ways available for the 4E shoes.
@@mr-w4812 my 10 2E 1080v12 and my 10.5 2E vongo5 are the same exact length if that gives you any insight. Edit: just checked and my 10.5 2E 1080v11 are the same length as my 10 2E 1080v12
I switched to 12 4E a few years ago on the 1080 from the 11.5 and I guess I'll order 11.5 next time. This video and the corresponding comments are really helpful. I don't think that these are generally available in the United States yet. It might take a while for that to happen and then I expect them to still be hard to find.
I think the 1080v11 was my favourite shoe of last year really, the heel didn't bother me at all. It had good cushion, the ride just felt great to me and they weren't too heavy, I would look forward to wearing them. I'd be really sad if the weight has gone up a lot, was getting hyped thinking of this year's version. But as a relative newbie runner (3 years) I guess i'll start experiencing the ups and downs of favourite shoes and their iterations!
You guys are wrong about the toe box width 🤙, it’s supposed to be wide, it’s what makes this and the More the shoes they are. It’s a version of stability for the long hauler or people needing some pronation ups - for the wide and narrow footed.
Run in this for 1.5 months now , had 1080 v11 as well. I like the upper changes. I think this review is spot on regarding sizing . I got 1/2 size down from normal and like the fit. My main quibble is the midsole seems to go flat a bit earlier than some other running shoe technologies and midsole materials on the market at the same cost .
You guys made it! Last night i spotted your quote in ad magazine here in finland. They were selling the nimbus 24 and your quote was there as a sales pitch!
Got a pair of 2e. A bit wider than expected but still ok for my wide feet. Maybe needing a half width down for some people who normally wear 2e or wider. Tongues are too short and missing the loops holding up the laces are drawbacks. No other complaints.
I’m a guy with very narrow foot and heel and I did not experience any heal lockdown issues in the v11. I think it was more of an issue in the looks dept. Progressive aesthetics in run shoes boggle brains and traditional, never changing comfort zones bring in the profits. Heel lockdown in the first infinity run was way more of problem but a racer loop solved that for me. But hey NB has now “fixed” the heel in the new 1080 but it gained weight so let’s bring on those complaints now!
I love new balance for its wide toe box. Maybe they just missed the mark on this but overall it’s the reason I’ve run in them for years and years. Here looking at reviews because of the durability issue of the rebel v2 I’ve had 3 blow out on me and I need something to hold me over until the new version comes out.
How about “Way too big for ME” as a review statement. Those of us who did not grow up as a geisha with bound feet find the ergonomic shape and room actually efficient.
Unfortunate that the sizing is such an issue, since it's kind of specific to the review copies. Us regular folks will be able to go to the store and try a half size up or down or whatever.
Where is the 1080 leaner more versatile sibling the Beacon V4. It's been awhile. It would be ashame if New Balance discontinued It since its a favorite among many runners and reviewers.
Good evenning believe in run and all the runners from 🇪🇸. Really??? Only 4 minutes????. Here my like. I like NB 1080 for long distance race . A nice week for everyone. 🌞🏃♂️🌞
Not sure why NB is making their uppers so much looser this year when they’re good about making wide versions of their popular models. I don’t remember hearing complaints about their shoes running narrow like I do with Nike or the older Hoka models.
Honestly just put the 10s back out. The 11s are too sloppy in the upper with heel lockdown/slippage issues and now the 12s are seemingly long and heavier? C’mon new balance, youz guyses.
This is my first comment ever, after years of viewing different shoe reviewer channels. I'm disgusted by the way you treated those shoes!!! especially by your own claim that you need more time with them. I feel you are being paid to trash New Balance. I put you on my don't recommend list. Runners make up your own mine. I wear asics 😉 by the way.
According to "Biomechanics of running economy" by Anderson (1996) and "Factors affecting running economy in trained distance runners" by Saunders et al. (2004): smaller than average feet are most efficient in the body structure of fast runners 😎
Sloppy upper due to excess width, plus too much length, plus increased weight... NB knows exactly what they're doing when they screw-up an insanely popular workhorse trainer like the 1080 JUST BEFORE launching a new slate of HIGH PRICED plated trainers & racers. NB knows a ton of ppl get by with just one shoe, and that shoe is the 1080. Well that's not good for the bottom line. No sir! We can't have that. Esp when you're just about to introduce a new line of premium shoes starting around $200 for a TRAINER. So what to do? What to do....? Well u intentionally sabotage the 1080 this release cycle hoping to subtly coerce a whole bunch of value conscious NB diehards, customers who've never considered a plated shoe, into trying out their new premium line-up. They're hoping to convert an entire swath of former 1080 runners into Supercomp TC runners or making 'em feel bad about downgrading to 'lesser' lines like 860/880. Strategic marketing mind games shoe companies play. They dearly hope ppl don't catch on. Then next yr the V13 will miraculously return to a proper fit.
KEEPING MAKING THEM WIDE NB

Running shoes are way too narrow. Toes are supposed to splay when running
For the wide foot fam, I’m loving this shoe. 👏
I guess I got lucky and was sent a size 10 2E instead of my normal 10.5 2E and it fits perfect.
Good to hear it. So you're saying I need to go half down on this sucker? I remember going up 0.5 in the v10.

Good to hear it's wider. I had the v10 in a wide and it was to narrow. I hope they have that color in women's

Thank You BITR 🙌🙌🙌
Wide foot fam thanks you NB
Agree with commens below...if i want slim fit torpedo- shaped shoes- a lot of companies around...thanks to NB for normal running shoe!
Love the “take care of your kid dynamic”….

Full size down for me. I really like the shoe, very comfortable.
Been waiting for this 🔥
Looking under the shoe it looks almost the same as the More 3.
Excited for the More V4!!!
Nice color way. If it is heavy, wait until the fresh foam more v4.
Razor excess2 review please

My V11s in regular width fit perfectly…stretchy, cushioned goodness.
When does the 1080v12 get released?
But did they do their job? Even heavier shoes can I think?

I found the 11 to be not near as cushioned as advertised. The upper does look better in the 12 though.

Geisha feet hahahahaha
Have you all done the Kinvara 13? I'm kind of hyped about it but there's also a lot of praise for the Axon 2
Dude yes just look at their videos first before asking 🤦♂️
@@JB-hq9yj lol I had already watched it too.
the review of the 880 v12 and this really put out the heat from its 2022 lineup.....hopeful the fuelcell don't share the same fate *fingers crossed
Release date?
It’s already out in Europe, Canada, and Asia. I think it drops in May for those of us in the States.
Unfortunate that the sizing is such an issue, since it's kind of specific to the review copies. Us regular folks will be able to go to the store and try a half size up or down or whatever.
I love wider shoes.
Was hyped for this. Doesn't seem to be up to standard, maybe they'll release a new rebel?
Yes there will be a RebelV3 later in the year. Search this channel for "New Balance Running 2022" to see it.

Hmm, hopefully NB didn't screw up this great shoe.
oh know.., it got heavier.., and longer.
so what you are saying is they messed it up. hmmm, we will see time will tell
V11s were dull.
Well that sucks 💨
