As the lady in the video said, she was very surprised by what she saw in this area of Mumbai. When people use the term 'slum', you have a certain expectation of how things are. The reality is quite often, very different to our own conception. The term 'slum' is a derogatory word used commonly in the West and sometimes used incorrectly .
Most foreigner come for slum tourism in india, Brazil For white savior gratification There is whole page in Wikipedia about this topic, either they come for self satisfaction and sympathizing about those poverty porn to analyse how better their lives or these foreigners are poor too. Dharavi is the most visited place by foreigners in india last year. They objectify those poor rather than considering them humans. Dont visit them until u cant help them, they arent your objects but rather humans . Hey dude Do u got your "White saviour syndrome" Ig those visiting india are poor as hell too as they don't have budget of even middle class indians. Domestic tourists spend way more than foreign tourists coming to India.
I honestly want to transform Dhsravi into something more aesthetically pleasing and I will use Dutch impressionist Piet Mondrian as my inspiration Imagine all houses in Dhsravi to be standardized into five models with exterior appearances looking like the paintings of Dutch artist Piet Mondrian!
It's became a fashion or University project for foreigners to visit dharavi in india. Government of India allocated funds to develop dharavi into modern coloney. Cheap tactics to get more views
@@LetsMeetAbroad Deleting my comment does make any difference, Chinese kind of treatment is required for foreigners who visit India for different purposes other than tourism

The main problem in Dharavi is aesthetics, sanitation and hygiene. These will be aggressively addressed in the coming few years. A lot of people in Mumbai and India want to turn this slum into something more aesthetically pleasing.
