can you use this device without their proprietary app? I'm done with any more devices in my home that require apps and cloud accounts. I see that it using bluetooth, but it would be much better if the vendor themselves would publicize a standards compliant interface (like MQTT) so that people can use the devices they bought with some standard mechanisms.
