    Don’t plant the wrong tree!
Welcome to my little channel! How to enjoy Japanese maples (Acers) is what this channel is all about.
    I discuss:
Selecting the best cultivars (varieties) for your garden
The difference between sedlings and cultivars
Picking the size and shape of tree that’s best for you
    Maples that tolerate full sun
Choose between pots and planting in the ground
    Heat, and wind tolerance
    Where to buy them
How to water and feed your trees
    Pruning
The best locations to grow them
Trips out and about to see new maples and Japanese Gardens
And anything else that viewers find useful
    All comments will be answered!
    Thanks for watching,
    Carl

Hey I have a question I have four Japanese maples and they are tiny sprouts in pots what is the best way to keep them alive during winter? Should I keep them outside or keep them inside? Also what is a good fertilizer for them? The pots are about 7in tall and about 6in wide.

Keep them in small pots and if the the roots wrap around them it’s going. Here in the UK zone 8b they are fully hardy, just leave outside. Only use proper acer fertiliser, slow release in March 👍
