Suspenseful. Improv lets you listen and explore your own emotions, that only learning to reading music doesnt do. But it's harder to play improv if you don't have a quieting knowledge of theory. I love teaching improv.I have a student that has been utilizing improv since she was 9. She's 15 now and she doesn't yet realize how amazing she is. Soon, I will put up a video of her.
