Big shout out to you my guy. Your video on how to install Windows actually made me bring out the old HP Chromebook 11 G3 I had in storage that I got for free from a school (my Mom is a teacher and they were junking all the old Chromebooks) which I hadn’t touched for years because everything I do for work and play is on Windows. I dabbled in Linux for a few years but I have more fun breaking Windows than I do fixing Linux.
I have done zero upgrades to this stock machine so it’s still running that 16gb soldered storage. I have a 8gb SD card mounted to the C:/ just so I can breathe. I also shrunk the windows binaries to free up about 1gb.
What’s crazy is that I tried doing this last week but Mr Chrome Box’s site was down and downloading his bios didn’t work so I was stuck in Developer Mode with no options and almost bailed on it. But I checked his site 2 days ago and he reported it back up and now I’m flying. I don’t even have any unrecognized devices. The CoolStar site was amazing.

All activities, you mentioned work very fine on chromeOS with good performance, long battery life, no annoying WIndows updates and virus scanner. I don't understand this strategy, but ok. People are different ;-)

    i personally love chromeOS
you just got to get used to it and know how to do things with it.
i think chormeOS is just as useful as windows if you know what youre doing but tbh it takes time to get into the advanced things

For the people saying that chrome OS is actually not that bad, while it can do basic tasks, doing anything like downloading software is a nightmare, chrome has made the worst compatibility issues. you can't even download steam for Christ's sake. it can do RUclips, and maybe google docs, but i find it incredibly hard to do anything as a gamer. in fact, it was such a pain I just got rid of the thing.

The battery drainage only occurs if the power management is not properly configured. Windows 10 is not ideal OS for that. Use FreeBSD and you will be seeing the difference. 😎

I’m guessing you’ve probably already solved this, but if you go to the subreddit chrultrabook there is a list of drivers

If you want a good laptop buy a used older model of a high quality laptop and buy a new battery as well. For example a ThinkPad. If you are lucky, as I was, you'll spend less than 150 bucks. You will have everything you need: they are stylish and hackintos- and linux- friendly. The battery, especially the new one you bought, will last forever. Ok, they are a bit on a bulky side, but so what? Are you a man with the muscles or not? 😀
