- For the past 30 years, Kathleen (Catherine Mary Stewart) has carried around the haunting memory of her father abandoning her and her mother on Christmas Eve. She blames her mother for that night and now refuses to celebrate Christmas at all. Although she tries to forget her past, it has not forgotten her.
Because of a blizzard, Kathleen finds herself stuck in her home with two strangers during the days leading up to Christmas. Sam (Muse Watson), a gentle older man Kathleen took in for the night, and Lucy (Cameron Ten Napel), the daughter of her soon to be fiancé (Anthony Tyler Quinn) bring her face to face with the hurts of her past. She has to choose between letting go and grabbing hold of a life-changing forgiveness, or continuing to carry her pain and bitterness.

Brought tears to my eyes. I lost my father when I was seventeen years old, I remember Christmas 1988, without him, it felt strange, but will always remember him.
I lost my dear Dad 53 yrs ago. I still remember him & miss him so much to this day.
My dad went to Heaven on Dec 23rd in 87. The Most Somber Christmas Ever! I came home from Fla & sis came from Louisiana to Ohio. He seldom had awareness, being he had brain cancer. Mom said that 2 weeks earlier dad said that he was going to be with Jesus for his birthday! In Jan the Dr said, Maybe 6 months, but he kept going. God I miss him even after 36 years!😢❤

I cried so much at the end. This was a beautiful film. I miss my parents so much. I am alone now.I am away from my siblings but I do have my daughter here in Kentucky with 3 grandhildren. Yes, forgiveness is so vital in all relationships.

I totally agree with all the great comments on this movie! It made me think of my dad who passed away some years ago and I miss him every day especially at Christmas as it was his favourite time of year.

This movie helped me to take that first step to learn how to forgive an abusive Father, an enabler Mother and help me learn to find peace in their passing. God doesn’t make mistakes, humans do. The only way to find peace is to find Christ in your circumstances.

This is a very touching and heartwarming movie. I got a bucket full of tears while watching this. It's been a long time since the last time I cried in a movie. Highly recommended.

Sam’s final Gift to his daughter, Forgiveness, & she discovered the healing & restorative POWER of FORGIVENESS. And Sam like Simeon saw the light & became at Peace. What a Beautiful message of Family healing. 💜
Sam did give a wonderful gift, but he abandoned her again. He was still family, even if Kathleen had a step-dad. If the ex wife still held a grudge, Sam's relationship could have been for Kathleen's new family. In reality, Kathleen would have sobbed to have lost him again, especially after learning what a great human being he turned into.
None of the comments here seem to be concerned with Sam's well-being, and it was very odd that Kathleen did not run out to him immediately when she saw him from the window. Anyway, how did he know Kathleen would be at the mother's house that day and time? The bus turning up like that was surreal, and could not have been planned.
The writer could and should have taken ALL the people into consideration, including Sam's change into that wonderful man. It was wrong that he had to lose his family again, and that now included a grand-daughter. The miracle ought to have included Sam.
Maybe there will be a follow-up to this movie. All good questions. 🙂
@@DonniDeVille It is sad, when alcoholism or drug addiction breaks up a family, and the kids have no idea why. Then, when the time comes where sobriety and counseling has given promise, it is short-lived, after they become disheartened when the "family" has moved on, and forgiveness and redemption takes longer than their recovery.

This is a movie that brings meaning any time of year. It is my first time watching and it is the middle of July. I was completely engulfed by the story. If anything, it is helping restore something I have lost in my own Life over the last couple of years. My Faith, forgiveness for both myself and others. Although I have spent most of my Life reading and studying The Bible, I had fallen away from what I had learned and believed. This movie, of all things, reminded me of what I had let slip away. While God does not allow dead people to come back and speak to their loved ones, I believe that God can send Angels as messengers "sometimes" in the form of our loved ones, if it is special circumstances and to bring about His Will for our lives, but it would be a very rare occasion. Most of the time Satan and his demons masquerade around as the "ghosts of our dead loved ones" to cause us all to go astray and to dive into the occult and seances which open the door for evil to come right into our lives. THAT being said, I liked the idea of the movie and the idea of forgiveness and the peace spoken of is of course the peace of salvation, knowing Jesus Christ as Savior. This is a beautiful message! This is why I really like this film. It used an interesting plot device to deliver the message of pure love, the love of God, love of a Savior, and the love of forgiveness.

Revelation 1:7 Every eye will see Him even those who Pierced Him.
Matthew 24:26-27 no secret return.
Matthew 24:30-31 Jesus comes in clouds, does not touch the ground.
Matthew 25:41 hell is prepared for devil and his angels, at the end of all time.
Ecclesiastes 17:30 we (all living) are not immortal.
Only Jesus has immortality-1 Timothy 6:13-16.

First time seeing this movie. I usually don’t watch lifetime bc it’s mostly about women who hate men but THIS ONE actually presented trials, bitterness, struggles, forgiveness, love and hope! Thank you!
This was such a great movie I had no idea that Sam was her father until the end it was so well put together in such a great Christian movie I absolutely loved it the characters were great the love she had for the little girl was terrific two and the love she had for the father and that he had for her but the best part was the end when she found out that Sam was her father and she went to meet her mother

@@k8lynmae I agree. She was ten, not two, when her dad left. I don't know how she didn't recognize him either unless he took on a different body(?). That's the only explanation I can think of.

That is not the attitude of anyone who gave their life to Jesus. If you are SERIOUS, you ask Jesus to forgive your sins, and save your soul. Then you give YOUR life to Him. Ask Him to change you, give you a new heart, and help you to know HIM. THAT is the priority.

As someone's whose god-daughter was killed by a driver using her mobile phone - and this woman was not only doing that but reading a newspaper while driving! I turned off instantly. Please people, THINK. You DON'T have to take or make calls while you're driving. It could take someone's life!
