Victoria Tennant as Aunt Lydia

I wanted to spotlight Victoria Tennant's performance as Aunt Lydia in the 1990 film adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale.
Her portrayal of Aunt Lydia was my introduction to that character when I first saw The Handmaid's Tale (1990). Ann Dowd is remarkable in her current portrayal on Hulu. But I must show my appreciation for Victoria's subdued yet intimidating performance.

After seeing the Hulu series, the theatrical version seems so silly.

I have the exact opposite impression. The theatrical version seems more realistic to me and the TV show seems like torture porn.
