    Just brought a 1943 vintage steel for home use so look forward to seeing how to make it look a bit prettier.

    In my opinion, working in kill floor need D2 and the last steel that Ashley showed, because the vintage steels will damage the knife’s edge because of rusty after one hour using. Vintage steels are good for boning room

      Yes vintage steels will start to rust through the day in wet environments. D2 is better but still will rust if not taken care of. This was the reason for moving to the new Supa Steel- much higher resistance to corrosion then even D2. These are proving to be the ultimate Steel in wet or any environment.

      @@AshleyYoungSharpening were can I buy one of your steels from I work in a slaughter floor in new Zealand and prefer the old steels
