Sometimes I write out the text and one of my kids start crying or I was cooking or I'm overwhelmed and I forget to press send. When I'm texting whilst busy I forget a lot to actually reply. I think I did and wonder why I didn't get a reply then check the messages then profusely apologise because I thought I did reply. I prefer phone calls for this very reason. I wait till I am completely free and actually set aside time to have a deep and meaningful conversation with the person/family/ friend

I hate when people say "I'm a bad texter" because it's almost always bullshit.
A "bad texter" might misspell a lot of things, or get distracted and leave on you read here and there, or just provide a lot of short answers because they prefer to talk on the phone. If they're only replying sporadically, or consistently leaving you on read, or they never initiate conversations... that's not being a bad texter. That person just doesn't care.
Just say "I'm not that into you" or whatever and be done with it.
If you are too busy to reply to someone new for days, at the stage where you expect someone to try as best they can to figure you out, invest time and it isn't a 'chore' yet, something is wrong. Legitimate reason or not that person isn't currently available to start any kind of relationship.

It's just wild to me that the primary form of communication today is texting. That is the worst way to communicate with someone. So many things can be misconstrued or misunderstood. Thank god I'm married and too old for today's dating scene. It boggles my mind when I see these guys today trying to talk to my daughter. It just seems so awkward. Month later, she texts me asking how are thing's, and i eventually got around to calling her out for her treat me poorly. She tried to laugh it off as a "No, i would never do that" until my receipts disagreed. I ended up blocking her the same day
Guys. please have standards. You are a human being too. Your time is valuable too. There IS someone out there that is willing to try just as hard as you do, to be in your life. Never accept answers such as "i knew i liked you once i rant through the rest and decided to double back to the only option that instantly drooled over me". Because seriously, imagine if the tables were turned, how quickly she would point out every single toxic detail about your whole existence if you did the same to her.

Not clearly communicating you have an issue with what someone is doing is a huge problem becuase it sends mixed singals that will be interpreted differently. If i was the chick I would have ended the date because that doesnt sound like "i dont like PDA", it sounds like "i dont rock with you". CLEARLY communicate because you dont know each other and each others signs and what they mean.

I’m a girl, so I don’t know if this is a difference in gender or if it’s just me, but I am a bad texter, and for me it’s the opposite of what they were saying. If I’ve been on one or two dates, I’m more likely to be bad at texting back because I haven’t built a strong connection and haven’t fully lowered my walls to expect anything out of it yet…. It’s when I’ve bonded with someone more and connected with them deeper that they’re the person I’m constantly thinking to text when I see a meme or whatever or ask about their day.
When I’ve gone on one or two dates with someone and I’m still figuring them out and if there’s even chemistry and all that-I’m much more likely to see their text, not know how to respond and get distracted by something I’m doing and intend to respond later and just forget. I’ve also left friends and family “on read” for days numerous times in the past when my anxiety or depression has been bad. (And a lot of times dating gives me anxiety and even if I am into someone will find reasons to put off dates and all that when it’s still new)
It’s so strange how circumstances influence your perception. For example, the two women… I completely agree with everything you guys said regarding their different financial situations, specifically the part where you said that the woman who’s feelings were hurt by the other’s obvious distaste. However, in December I lost job where I had a 6 figure salary. Back then, I would’ve wholeheartedly hopped on the, “that’s your problem” bandwagon. However, now while rebuilding I’m not making what I did back in December and can relate to the woman who had her feelings hurt on some level even though I still agree that it is something that she needs to get over.
Anyway, I say all of this to say that regardless of our past experiences our current perception is largely influenced by our current reality and I think it’s interesting.
It means you're stupid. Normal people can understand situations even when we're not in them... hopefully you remain forcefully single while you broke...
If you base a relationship on social position or money, you are setting yourself up for heartbreak later on in life. What happens to your feelings towards your significant other when they get irreparably injured and cannot provide anymore? What happens when the divide between what you bring to the relationship vs what they bring becomes a chasm incredibly wide and deep? Look for a partner that looks at who you are and falls in love with you not anything else.
Are you taking about the big girl. Naw she's not doing that. Shes talking about her accomplishments as she should be able too and be proud of her hard work. Wanting someone to be on your level or above is not a negative trait when you have your shit together.

I agree with the sentiment that there will always be a reason for someone else to look at you and think "nah, this isn't enough for me," and thats okay. It doesn't feel good, we're all human here and we want to feel enough especially to those we may have affection for but those negative feelings aren't absolute and you aren't enough for some people, and that's okay,heck in reality we all have expectations of those we choose to love but you are indeed enough in general.

I don't think it's shameful at all. Everyone has a different rhythm to communicating. Sometimes you punctuate with pauses, sometimes you remember something else later, sometimes you know you won't have your phone on you for a while so you leave another msg etc. I'll never care about anything that petty unless it's like, unrequited msg after unrequited msg all the time
