(This is the channel link to my first ever K-pop bias, who dragged me into Kpop about 7 years ago and if it wasn't because of him, I wouldn't be translating Korean or even be interested in Kpop today (I was quite the anti-Kpop back then- unexpected, huh?). They debuted in 2011, and disbanded in 2019 after 8 years in the Kpop industry. They were as popular as EXO at first because they debuted in the same year, but due to Starship's poor promotions, mistreatment, and neglect, the Kpop industry slowly forgot about them as they were only allowed to release Japan songs for 2 and a half years. Starship began focusing on MONSTA X's debut, and you might know them better than BOYFRIEND, which makes me salty because they totally ignored BOYFRIEND's promotions in South Korea and sent them to Japan for such a long time. When BOYFRIEND actually came back, it was already near their contract expiration and other overrated Kpop groups were at their peak popularity- which is really bad management to me, Starship. Same thing with Sistar, but at least they're still famous and the members are individually known. BOYFRIEND? Only true fans stick close.
So, back to the point, the boys are either soloists, musical actors, actors, and youtubers now. I want to show my support to the group that dragged me into Kpop back when Kpop was not toxic and competitive. Even though their concepts were 'cringy', 'too cute', 'bad boy' and 'typical', it was what made Kpop special back then. BOYFRIEND has so many hits around their debut, but after the long neglect, people don't know their newer songs, but I still suggest checking them out!
If you do check them out, then I am deeply grateful from the bottom of my heart.

Hey! I don't know much about BOYFRIEND as I got into K-pop in 2018, but I am just recently listening to older groups like VIXX, NU'EST, and SS501. Which BOYFRIEND songs would you recommend to someone who has never listened to them before?

1. BOYFRIEND (the most cute and shocking debut yet so iconic, old kpoppers would definitely know this one at least- i think they won Golden Disk Rookie Award during their debut year so they were pretty big... back then in 2011)

Sorry for the long list, I believe you should start with these first.. and you can definitely see the difference as years pass. They’re literally like NU’EST, but unlike NU’EST who revived their career, BOYFRIEND just disbanded :(
