The model looks so much nicer with the old paint removed and a new coat applied. The window is fine looking but I agree a replacement would be nicer. Thanks for sharing this.
looking great again. :) yeah, those brittle windscreen units... some of them don't age well. I love my SIKUs but I have to admit you're correct. SIKU often went for wrong proportions, even in more modern times. their VW 1303A is too short and too wide, for example, and I don't know what took the designers. seems play value was always more important. they could have put the cast spoke wheels on the Mistral, which are slightly larger in diameter, and would have looked the thing more. I am not sure which models got that, though, as so far I have only a very early Jaguar E with those wheels. SIKU could have done more variants IMO. later the model got the engraved Rostyle wheels before they switched to the printed wheels. Matchbox' Alfa Carabo also came from yatming, and I think, Mebetoys or even Tomica? Polistil? there I thought I had a good memory... but neither has the correct count of windows. XD Beetles are a possibility, too, but it's hard to compare the years, as the design was adjusted so often... how about comparing Ferrari F40-Models? if I recall right almost everyone had one model running back when, from SIKU to Matchbox, Maisto/MC Toys, Hot Wheels, just to count thosde I came across here in 1:64 scale. :) also, the count of rear window louvers was never the same, as some modelers used the early or late pre-series prototype for measures. :)
It was clever the way you scored the 2 models, but you’re comparing apples to oranges. I like the fire engine red color and the extra detail of the opening hood and engine. I don’t know what other comparisons you have planned but maybe next time you can do it side by side. Good job as always
I really did enjoy that putting siku versus Lone Star add to be honest I think you should do that with more I mean even if you're going to compare Hot Wheels to Matchbox keep up the good work have a good one and God bless my friend
AWESOME and great work.
Great real picture, awe casting.
Big like 👍

Lovely job Jason, looks great
really enjoyed this, as well as the comparison; I have a Siku but had never seen the Lone Star version..
Excellent work.
Lone Star are fantastic and deserve more recognition. Lovely job of renovating it, hopefully you'll do more of them in the future
Looks nice
Awesome work Jason
Great paint.
Great job 👍🏻
I think the Lone Star has the potential for a good restomod - light metallic blue and wire wheels and chrome the front as well as the back bumpers 🙂
Great work. I'm a Lone Star fan so, I'm biased!
👍 Thx 🇧🇪.

If you had coloured the chrome bits on the front wings that would have been the cherry on top for me
Awsome
