Ole is the most underrated drummer out there. He might not be a perfect timekeeper, but you could listen to one of his drum tracks alone and call it music. He was a genious composer and that makes him my favourite. I am 100% sure that the reason why i have been listening the first two dissection albums for years almost everyday without ever getting bored is the drumming, which is very interesting to listen to
I agree, he can be the best black metal drummer and one of the top drummers in the metal history. I like his fills at the end of each drum attack so much
That part at 5:00 is one of the best moments in Black Metal history. A wall of sound explodes into you along with the most beautiful lyrics: LONELINESS IN THE EMBRACE OF YOU AUTUMN NIGHT THE NIGHT THAT FROZE MY CRIES Melodic Black Metal has never before and will never reach this high again.
Beautifully put. Storm has a lot of these moments where it seems everything is teetering on the edge. Dark and ominous passages everywhere. This damn record is simply timeless
The songs on Storm are really hard to play as Ole is using no 'tricks'. It is hitting your drums as hard and fast as possible. And still there's so much dynamics in the playing and so many smart tempo changes in the fills and a lot of feel. I think you managed to cover that. Excellent job!
I’ve heard people say the drumming sucks on SOTLB but imo it was a really unique style and approach from Ole. Not necessarily super clean and tidy but rather relentless and still playful.
@@Freeskiingisdabest 10 months late but relentless is the best word to describe it. Yes, there are slower more diverse parts of songs, but when shit hits the fan, so to speak, its just a relentless onslaught of drumming and the album wouldnt be nearly as good without that specific style and approach.
Binge watched a bunch of your covers. You nail some really tough songs. Songs like this impress me the most though. It's harder to play older material because there's more of a compositional effort involved when covering. (converting 3s to 4s and knowing when to do so without imposing on the integrity of the song etc.) You do a phenomenal job in this song. Hearing the drums hit where theyre "supposed to hit" is bliss to a drummer's ears. But we all know that the original inconsistencies are what sucked us into metal for life.
Thank you so much man! Yeah you nailed it! It’s trying to balance that line between what’s ‘expected’ in fast metal drumming these days while preserving the magic that was created in classics like this song.
10/10 great bro, you are absolutely brilliant, i don't play drums, but i watch a lot of videos in which todays metal kids are using a lot of tricks naming them techniques lol, guitar players too, some are using alternate and legatos picking more than needed. Technology is the death of music, but your playing is very good and true, you hit the snares like an 80/90 drummer no more tricks just pure blasts right through the face of the listener ... Bravo

hardest dissection song to play on drums. fast as hell. you did great, although not perfect - on some of the beats you didnt play 16th notes on cymbal. but you nailed the fills. very good!
In the track I feel like it sounds like sextuplets but I’m just not sure. I’ve seen the song played with both sextuplets and quads and I just can’t figure it out. Awesome cover! Making it look easy out here
Great play through as always, I had never heard the original but it seemed like I've heard it before. Abysmal Dawn did a cover on their album Obsolescence. ruclips.net/video/ipks7PKVB1A/видео.html

I agree and this the reason why I didn’t like too much the last albums without him and his creativity
A pleasure to listen to and watch.

You call it sloppy, but I say you gave it a Hellhammer sort of vibe. Well done.
Perfect blast beat technic 👌
Thanks 🤟🏻
With a quality headphones the pedals just like heaven to listen, very precise.
Thanks!! Glad to see people listen with headphones, the kit sounds sound so much better with them!
Just amazing 😮🫵🤘🤘🤘

Это лучшее что моим ушам довелось слышать за жизнь
I love the fills. I love when drummers make good use of the snare when playing fills.
Some of the cleanest form I’ve seen

What kit do you use?
It’s a drumtec diabolo series kit. With a roland td-11 module connected to my mac which runs Superior Drummer 3 sounds :)
nice cover over all but just a tad bit too fast
